Six Nations 2018. Love it.

Result aside I thought it was a poor game.

Depends what your expecting from the game. In those conditions it was never going to be a high scoring game. England dominated the first hour before Wales came back into it and were in it until the end.
Some of the open play was great to watch
I'd rather watch that than last week when wales dominated Scotland scoring loads of trys

Me too. There is a weird mashocistic delight in seeing the clock turn red, Wales have the ball.......then the relief when they coughed it up.

Take little enjoyment seeing 40 plus points on a team. Well, a bit obvs, but you get the point.

The injuries to Henshaw and (more importantly) Furlong could well prove to be major problems for Ireland. Schmidt clearly did his homework during the week and put Italy to the sword, but there are far bigger games to come. Getting a few youngsters on the field for a prolonged run-out was a good move, even if it led to conceding points late on.

England looked unstoppable in the first 20 minutes, and comfortable in the second 20.... after that I'm not sure whether they dipped or if Wales just played out of their skins. Wilkinson was quite right to point out in the post-match analysis that England should have taken a couple of drop goals just to keep the scoreboard ticking over - the psychological pressure on Wales would have increased and England would have enjoyed a bigger margin of victory. Garland will no doubt bleat and whinge about the TMO, but how many times did Wales genuinely pose a threat?

Agree with both of you unreservedly. The Ireland v France game last week and the England v Wales game today were both incredibly tense and completely compelling.

People who want to see high-scoring games with no defence would be better off watching basketball.

When that last pass to farrell was dodgy, even then Wales were a fumble away from the win.

Engrossing stuff

One of the best games I saw live was Bristol at home to Stade Francais, (when they were utter sex), and it was a filthy night. 19 0 to Bris, and utterly compelling with Stade seemingly camped on our line for 20 mins.

Yeah. .on another day it's given... not an excuse though we just didn't do enough attacking wise and England defended well last 20

Aye. I am one of those weird England fans who actually prefer watching Wales. Prob cos when we moved down here like 45 years ago, we could only get Welsh regional TV. ITV and BBC, so was exposed to Welsh rugby as a youngster. England were mainly utter mince back then as well, so JPR, Bennet, Edwards, or *random tripe* was a no brainer.

It was a great game because both sets of players refused to give any quarter, but still tried to play attacking rugby.

England's try saving tackle was sublime.

Wales never let up in defence and put in some hard hits.

I for one was gripped the entire game.
