When I was younger I sprinkled some salt on a slug which was in my garden out of curiosity. I was horrified at the slow painful death the slug endured.

This is the type of thing that passes as amusement to the weird Wirral beauts . Nothing short of hillbillys the lot of you

doubt it slogs lay 100s of eggs as UK slugs are hermaphrodites i.e. they dont need a male they just lay hundreds of eggs without mating as an ex top nurseryman I used to use a liquid called Sluggit which was a chemical that dissolved the eggs that broke the cycle of the slug which believe it or not vast in numbers you could hear them crunching your crops in the silence of night in a greenhouse - I used to also put on the path of the greenhous lids of mild beer to find hundreds in the lids the next day either drunk as a skunk or drowned in the mild beer the beer was cheaper than slug pellets which has the same effect - the Sluggit insecticide only for professionals you sprayed in under the benches in the greenhouse where the eggs were likely to be!
you can purchase at great expense a predator bug in your garden which will see them off but then the predator will die as its food supply disappears - how much is a can of cheap mild beer?
It does the job it's a magnet for them!
The ones that are sloshed drunk you have to kill them yourself though with you feet on the floor brutal hey!lol

I was only joking as slug eggs are visible globular tiny round ball shaped, I have bought a lettuce with green fly all over it my eyes are not as good as the were with jam jar lenses!!

Don't mind them, it's all these European slugs coming over here and stealing our slugs' lettuce I have an issue with.

British lettuce for British slugs I say.
