Some of our fans today...

Yesterday I thought time up for Lampard but looking at the next 3 games what's the point? West Ham away... they're struggling badly but I can't see us getting anything there as they will be seeing that fixture a their chance to get back to winning. Arsenal at home could be a slaughter and the derby could be the most toxic derby in a long time. A new manager isn't changing how them games go. I actually think the derby is our best chance of a result to be honest but lost there and I dread to think what will happen.

I just don't know where we go from here.

Sounds like something kopites would say, for us all to them laugh about them playing the victim card.
I’d agree but where is this evidence of the assault in the Main Stand? Why has no other fan seen it?

Why only release the info before the game? They know we have some bad eggs amongst our support (as does every club) and must have knew it would inflame the situation.

there's something to be said about the large amount of fans taking everton's impending relegation as an excuse to turn into proper animals
drunk, drugged, furiously frothing and screaming at players, barricading cars, furiously wanting some kind of response, reaction, attention after the 90 minutes and the protest was done
no doubting the level of sadness, fury, anger, disappointment, but it's not the club or board's responsibility to keep people in line - that's on the fans themselves, and they can't blame the result or the board for acting like thugs
do they care? no. but it's a purely destructive exercise - entirely selfish and damaging to everyone involved

West Ham is very winnable and Liverpool look utter crap at the moment.

Both opportunities to get points.

All that i agree with you, it does seem convenient

But we need to address the aggressive and violent tones thats currently in the fan base….not spend time denying that it may or may not have happened.

It just makes us look like we are ignoring what we have become and deflecting away from that.

Add that to young players being confronted and being chased down the streets….would it be so hard to believe that the directors could be attacked??!!

We cant be outraged when they say they fear for safety….would you be ok if your son played for us and on his own coming from games.

I’ll be honest outside of the obvious made up assault I could not give less of a damn about anything that’s happened, if that was actually true then that’s too far but it’s obviously not so it’s a non factor. I couldn’t care less that some fans maybe said some mean things to a couple of millionaires that need a reality check. The worst part of their life is some fans blocking a road and shouting at them, boo hoo.

This club means a lot to people, normal people like us, they may go a touch overboard sometimes but when they see what they see on the pitch and behind the scenes what else do you expect them to do. The board didn’t even show up out of pure cowardice, that frustration had to go somewhere.

If I was a player for this club at the minute I’d be ashamed, not of the fans but of what the players and board are doing and getting away with, even still if I was a player clearly taking the piss out of the club do you think I’d care if some lads blocked my car after the match? Could leave that car there and buy a new one the same day if I wanted to.

This is what I’m talking about, these players are pampered, well paid and told that they’re great by everyone around them, you think they remotely understand what it’s like to see a fan who has to pay their hard earned money to watch them stroll around and not give any effort on the football pitch? Pay me £10k a week, never mind that they’re mostly all on 10x that, and you can say what you want to me, block my car, do whatever you feel necessary outside of actual threats and assaults and I’ll say it’s fair.

There's a case to be made for the extreme security you see on the way into the Darts at the Ally Pally. Sniffer dogs, ShowSec heavies, instant removal from the ground if you look remotely drunk etc.

Would extend these rules to Dave Prentice and the players too of course.

I agree we have a lot of weapons that support us, as does every other club, but I’d say that’s a lot to do with society nowadays where some people think they are solid, beaked up etc. I don’t think anyone is saying they were right doing what they did, it is bang out of order and they deserve being called out.

But don’t you think if a fan in the Directors Box grabbing the CEO would have created a storm at the time, and could have been dealt with before rather than hours before an important game when tensions are high as it is? If it had been addressed then, things may have been different.

The release of that statement was cute, they knew it would rile our fan base up, and with the performance on the pitch heightened the frustration of many of us, but also angered the minority of fans who acted that way.
