Some S'ton fans think we are creaming ourselves with this appointment. I don't see this as a long-term deal with Koeman he is here to improve our posistion in the league, then we give him back.

are you sure. a few posters from here have posted on saintsweb

I tried - setup an account and never got posting privileges. I think the ones that did get access set the accounts up a week or so ago. They seem to have stopped all new accounts from being able to post.

did you expect any different?
football fans for you

Koeman during his whole time at saints painted a picture that he is a man of honour...of his word etc,
a year ago he said that barcelona would not tempt him away from his contract as he is different from other people in football and utterly respects the commitment he had made

a few weeks ago he stated time and time again that he would be the manager of saints next season as he is a man of his word. An honourable man, one who does not break his deals etc

he warned players time and time again about leaving saints (for anyone) and used Schneiderlin, Lovren, Chmabers as an example of grass not being greener and all that (spin, I know)

he stated many times that the only jobs that would tempt him from NOT renewing his current deal would be the Dutch National Job and Barcelona....only at the end of his deal. This was stated time and time again and pointed others in the game of not being 'honourable' like he is

here we are. Guess after hearing it so much from him, saints fans actually believed him
At least you are seeing it and wont be a surprise to you that if he does well in the next 24 months he would drop you at a moments notice if a better offer comes along
Then he also will realise when he's been around the club for a while that Everton are actually a massive club compared to saints and he could achieve a lot more with us He knows he's already reached the celling with the saints and being realistic punched above their weight for the last 2 seasons so dry your eyes lads and move on.COYB.

Nice of us to allow Soton fans to come on this forum and provide us with an insight into their thoughts and perspective. Shame their forum will not grant reciprocal access to us fine GOT posters.

Says it all really.
Takes a couple of days before they authorise new accounts.

A friend told me this.

they dont. it takes a day or so for your account to be authorised
that is the case no matter who you support. More so, to stop pompey fans from spamming the board

good luck then
I will assume you will be demanding better than 6th place and a 1 win away from champions league places in the next two years
given how much bigger you are. as that is where we are at in southampton

Southampton have europa league next year, and a good solid team, they should be able to attract an ambitious manager wanting to follow in the footsteps of Pochettino and Koeman.

Absolutely we'll be demanding better than 6th. We were demanding that for the last 2 years which is why Martinez was sacked for not delivering.

On the flip side if he doesn't do well in 24 months we could drop him, after giving him a 5 year contract and telling him he is our man with our backing and total faith.
Everything in football is fickle, it is the way the game has gone
If any of us are expecting loyalty, we are in the wrong game....
