Koeman during his whole time at saints painted a picture that he is a man of honour...of his word etc,
a year ago he said that barcelona would not tempt him away from his contract as he is different from other people in football and utterly respects the commitment he had made

a few weeks ago he stated time and time again that he would be the manager of saints next season as he is a man of his word. An honourable man, one who does not break his deals etc

he warned players time and time again about leaving saints (for anyone) and used Schneiderlin, Lovren, Chmabers as an example of grass not being greener and all that (spin, I know)

he stated many times that the only jobs that would tempt him from NOT renewing his current deal would be the Dutch National Job and Barcelona....only at the end of his deal. This was stated time and time again and pointed others in the game of not being 'honourable' like he is

here we are. Guess after hearing it so much from him, saints fans actually believed him
At least you are seeing it and wont be a surprise to you that if he does well in the next 24 months he would drop you at a moments notice if a better offer comes along

To be fair mate Barcelona didn't temp him away. Let's be honest Southampton will never finish higher than they did this season so it's a no brainer for any of your players/staff to move on to bigger and better things. You should be applauding him and wishing him all the best

and many would be stunned if everton do any better than 6th going forwards...

as said earlier. which of the top sides in the league are you going to replace?
they all will spend more than you, they will all have better managers
nearly all have pressed the reset button and they all (by some distance) have better squads

which your £100m allow you to over take from the bottom half of the league?

not being awkward, just curious to where you think this champions legaue will come from?

Stunned probably isn't the word. But we should improve. Top 6 next season should be doable. Beyond that, who knows with us. But with Southampton it will most likely be back to the old relegation scraps I think you have to admit that. 2 good seasons will be something to cheer about though.

Maybe Koeman isn't exactly delighted with what Southampton have offered. He said a few times towards the end of the season that he would sit down with Southampton to see if they can match "his ambition". Maybe you can't match it so he has no choice but to go elsewhere to a club that will look to match his ambition.

Plus don't be fooled by Everton having a couple of piss poor seasons under Martinez. Any manager coming in, whether that be Koeman or someone else just needs a basic grasp of football management and and defensive nous and we will piss 6th. Proper lol when you said people would be stunned if we finished 6th.

It's your opinion that THEY have better squads. I'm not too sure about it. And why are a lot of Saints fans behaving like lemmings than and throw themselves collectively of a rock over losing Koeman to us, if he's not all that?

Cant be bothered flagging all the stuff thats been going on mate, and no, we will not get CL next season in all probability. Probably not for a few seasons. But the dead weight that has been our ownership for 20 odd years is gone.

All the reasons that have painted us in these Sky days as plucky little Everton are being dismantled.

And the biggest issue of all, at last, seems to be in progress.

You seem to be really struggling with the concept that finishing 11th doesn't mean we have the 11th best squad in the league. With the players we already have, and the money we will spend, we should expect to be in the top 6. That's why we sacked our manager, because we were underperforming. It's not difficult to understand.

A whopping 25 months ago we were sitting pretty in 4th with 5 games to play. There's absolutely no reason to think we can't get back there, seeing as we have essentially the same core of players.
