I think Martinez has gone for the right approach here. He knows that using our usual system we'd struggle to beat them away, but trying something different like this would have caught them off guard.

It's all very well trying something different, but it needs to be because it's the best line up for the players against the team they are playing against. Not just for the sake of it.

And as always, it's not the line up or the formation which is the main problem, it's the way we play with those players in those formations that matter.

At least we can't be worse than last year.
