We're pretty much guaranteed Europa league so at least that's something. The hilarious thing is you just know we'll hammer City and hand the RS the title.

Can't really describe that performance today. So poor. Can only hope we win our last two and arsenal somehow lose all their remaining games!

Actually agree with this. It has to be a mental issue if we can put away Arsenal and United convincingly when the pressure is off us, but fold like a house of cards when we play lesser opposition when there's something to be had as a result of the win.

Too many Moyes era players perhaps, I dunno, but that doesn't explain McCarthy and Barry not turning up today, or the absolute LOL performances of Lukaku and Deulofeu.

Laughing. How was the pressure off us when we played Arsenal ? It was a massive game.

Time to commence the football media blackout. I will keep on here but Sky sports news and the disgusting BT have just been unsubscribed from. Might reactivate them once the WC kicks in but I don't want to see another ball kicked till May is out.

Well out of line with that mate, seriously look at what ya saying
Davek only appears when he's thought of something negative to say, and it doesn't matter whether his negativety is justified or not. I thoght Alcaraz recovered well from hi o.g. but credit to Southampton, the manager had obviously had a good look at us and in a way played us at our own game. Early on they kept the ball and frustrated us, and this signalled our whole performance. One thing...Barkley probably played himself out of a trip to Rio(thats my 'negative' thought for the day)

They had us at arms length there all day. That's a side with nothing to play for and they took the piss.

Yeah, when the red mist does down a bit I'm sure the great performances will be remembered and that we had a great season points wise and performance. But that was a disgrace. No hold barred. That manager of ours flew down the tunnel and I reckon he'll be kicking their arses all over the shop right now.

Has to play 90 min every single match, he's going to have off days. Go back and watch the matches he doesn't play. Others needed to step up.

They put two headers on an absolute plate for him today both from 6 yards and he cocked up both chances, are you excusing him those dire efforts on the basis that our midfielders should've scored 3 instead?

EVERY single time we get a chance of stepping into a controlling position this lot let the expectations get to them. It isn't a coincidence. Martinez needs to get a psychologist in there.

[Poor language removed] hopeless that today.

Disagree mate, the Arsenal game was the single highest pressure game of the season and probably our best performance, also the United game has as much pressure as this, simple fact is we just don't play anywhere near as well away from home yet under the new system etc, think a lot of the times we have been overlooking this, we also see that the squad struggles with a slew of injuries as well and we are a centre mid a striker and a play-maker short even with a full squad.

All in all, this season has been a great one for Martinez's first in charge and surpassed my wildest hopes coming into it.

In that we weren't expected to win it, it was a no lose situation. Win and we're in the fight from then on, lose and we're out of it but we were expected to be anyway.

Palace then saw us try to consolidate it and our mentality failed; same again today after the United result. As davek said, it can't be a coincidence.

I'm expecting us to turn over City, for example, for the same reasons.

Absolute nonsense.

The Arsenal game was massive as was the pressure on the team.

The Palace loss was much worse than this as it basically finished the race for 4th.

I hope we don't need any points against city to confirm 5th based on that display. Then again should get a draw against squashed nose!
