EVERY single time we get a chance of stepping into a controlling position this lot let the expectations get to them. It isn't a coincidence. Martinez needs to get a psychologist in there.

[Poor language removed] hopeless that today.

That's just simply not true. Case in point? Everton 3-0 Arsenal.

Arsenal will get battered on Monday, just to upset us.......
do you know what, that;s the type of thing that would happen ,knowing our luck, knowing we could have been 4th not for the 1st time lol,i am very happy with our season, just came up short at the wrong time, though we came from miles bk to even have a shout of champions league,im a proud everton fan this season, considering most experts thought we would be bottom half and even some fans werent happy with martinez,i was was happy and thought 8th at the start myself,so to get europa i think is brilliant

They had us at arms length there all day. That's a side with nothing to play for and they took the piss.

Yeah, when the red mist does down a bit I'm sure the great performances will be remembered and that we had a great season points wise and performance. But that was a disgrace. No hold barred. That manager of ours flew down the tunnel and I reckon he'll be kicking their arses all over the shop right now.
Don't want to be churlish when we have had so many good days this season but I think he has to absolutely batter them in the changing room for that. Was always going to be tricky but v little effort there for virtually the whole game.

Absolute nonsense.

The Arsenal game was massive as was the pressure on the team.

It's a different pressure - "come on lads, let's give it a right go and we'll be right in there if we do it" compared to "come on lads, get past this banana skin and it's on to City."

The difference between approaching a game expecting to progress and wary of a slip up, compared to a game where you go all guns blazing and see where your ability takes you.

Soton all average players bar 2 maybe 3 show us how you pass and move with the ball and how to close down without the ball. We laboured on the ball having to search for a player to pass to. Stones and Alcaraz although sweet on the ball afford too much space to the attackers and are too far away. Lukaka is frustrating in we know he has power and pace but only seems to use it against the bigger clubs. He is looking more like a big game player. We should have had a pen and del was not offside but we deserved what we got today. Been a good season and hopefully RM adds some good fast clever ball players to the squad in the summer. Mirallas was a big miss today. I know he can be frustrating but we are missing the unpredictable when he is not there. Del, Ross and Stones are still on a learning curve and will be hit and miss for a while yet. Think Ross has missed the plane to Brazil.

Actually agree with this. It has to be a mental issue if we can put away Arsenal and United convincingly when the pressure is off us, but fold like a house of cards when we play lesser opposition when there's something to be had as a result of the win.

Too many Moyes era players perhaps, I dunno, but that doesn't explain McCarthy and Barry not turning up today, or the absolute LOL performances of Lukaku and Deulofeu.

Its down to fatigue mate, Barry and McCarthy have played nearly every minute this season same with Lukaku besides the injury period, notice it during any time we have 3 games in 8 days that they all have a bad game in their. Lukaku however i think is utterly goosed from leading the line on his tod atm, the injuries to Kone and Gibson have come home to effect us badly now

So now you've gone from saying the pressure was off to it was a 'different kind' of pressure.

You don't have a clue what your own stance is on this.

Arsenal at Goodison was massive and pretty much every blue on here would say so.
