Man city could be a cricket score......for them.
Hope not. But it's not looking good. We just don't turn up in this sort of match. It's more ( with me anyway) hoping that this Everton team turn up. And of course it's nearly always a letdown. So for next week , I'm hoping for the best. But tbh it's damage limation. Take what we can. But as we haven't kept too many clean sheets , it's going to be difficult.
But there again........every bloody game is difficult for our bunch .
Never wanted a season over as much as I do this one. Can't even get too worked up about the FA cup. When we scrape past Boreham Wood. You just know that we will draw Man City away.
Ah well.........on to next week. We might get a surprise. Hopefully.

"I did not like the reaction," said Everton manager Frank Lampard.
"I am here for a reason because we are down in a position we don't want to be in. In the two games at Goodison I have seen some really good thing - in the two games away, not so much.
"The players need to understand that second half is not good enough. It is not good enough to lose second balls consistently; it is not good enough to try and miss out [midfield] and play to the strikers.
"It has to be an option but it can't be the way we play. We will have days like this. It is important to learn the lessons."

He’s having a big dig at Benitez there, with his comment about missing out the midfield.

Not totally defending the shithouse players we have in the squad, but when are we gonna acknowledge and kick off to the officials and the league about the referees and the standard of officiating were facing week after week!?

It's a joke - the other week Newcastle kicked us off the park, no early bookings or concerns for them and they continued all game fouling without a care.

Today, a stonewall pen missed that var then ignores, then an early soft booking for Allan which completely disrupts the team and our flow.

That's when the game changed - we couldn't get into them after the booking and our heads went (that's on the players as well like tbf).

Saints finished the game without a single booking, even though they were consistently fouling, some much worse than Allan's tackle - it's just not consistent or even close to being acceptable.

The snide will come.

We have some winners now.

Listening to Southampton fans singing about their injury break on 67 mins was funny.. We’d clearly planned for that ourselves and had more players over than they did.

I’m confident in our management / training team now…

Said once and will say it again, just forget about away games. Goodison is the only place we can expect anything from these players. I'm tired of the crap from these lot. What's worse is teams like Burnley and Watford have more experience in these situations. Grinding out results and all. At least we know we have to switch up the line up. The illusion from last week has cleared. Beer googles off.

Would've taken a goaless draw but 0 shots on target FFS? Weirdly enough I'm not even worried about the City game. It's one we expect to lose but knowing us lot we'll probably pam em 3-1

I agree mate, Frank and the backroom team will get us sorted out - you don't do what they have in the game and not do the snide right.

I'm just sick to the back teeth of useless inconsistent refs and bloody var tbh.
