Completely agree - a couple of injuries/suspensions and today is what is likely to happen, if those picked don't work, run hard and look after the ball better.

Still think Carlo has had a bit of a mare today - just hope he sees through the shiesters like siggy and iwobbly now, I'd sooner play bloody kids than them two.

Delph might now be a better shout in midfield than siggy, and that's quite scary!

There were plenty of calls for Sigurdsson to come in today tbf, after Gomes' mare last week. But I think we saw how important he can be for us getting a foothold in away games, especially.

Coleman and Richarlison the main issues. Without them, the 4-3-3 doesn't work in an attacking sense.

Iwobi was dreadful and has shown himself up, unfortunately.

I still don't know why we didn't go for another forward. Very poor.

A lot of us seem to have written 4th spot off after today. I think that’s premature. It’s true that we have no depth. However, if we have our best starting XI available for the vast majority of our league matches this season we’ve got a chance of getting 4th, albeit an outside one. I’m just excited by the prospect of how good we might be by this time next year or this time in 2022 because Carlo has improved us dramatically since taking the helm in December.

Got to laugh over people on here saying Rodriguez was poor. If that was poor then let's hope he stays poor. On the ball he was brilliant, as usual. The problem was the team. To anyone who hadn't had the good fortune to see his performances so far and so was watching him for the first time he'd have stood out as the top performer.
In contrast there are others who thought Allan played well. He was awful. If Tom Davies had been caught out of position so often in one game and been walked past in some many instances he'd have been slated. And why CA decided to push him forward having taken Doucoure off heaven knows. To my (albeit limited) knowledge he hasn't ever played as a forward midfielder.

They had a stat on before the game. I think we are 4th in points gained since Carlo took over.

Well, lads, let's acknowledge this sad feeling and move on. Right now the team has to concentrate on the next game. While it sucks to lose, Everton played poorly and the other team played better hence the result. Carlo has a lot of work to do and now the team has to rethink the strategy for the next few games. While I always like a team that is offensive-minded, in the next few games the team might have to be more conservative. Without Richarlison, Dinge, and Coleman and that James might be injured Everton is missing four key offensive players. Carlo unfortunately doesn't have too many weapons to make up for these three players. He will have to go back to Gomes and include Gordon and Nkounkou for the next game. At least that is my preference for the next game.

You lot love your own hype, had a curious look at your site this week, all I saw was “bang us four nil” all week. Saints are average.....

All fans are the same mate.

If you looked without your biased tinted specs on you’d actually see a fair amount of people showing respect to Saints and expecting it to be a tough game prior to kick off, which it certainly was.

Also are fans not also allowed to be confident of their own team winning?

Maybe you’ve just become accustomed to a negative mentality because of the team you support and the negative effect it’s had on your overall life but people are entitled to be confident and positive.

Sounds like you’ve been waiting around here in bitterness and jealousy for our ‘bubble to burst’ which it has and now it’s given your life some sort of purpose and satisfaction and I am happy for you.
