Southgate and England

And I thought the vomit inducing “its coming home” rubbish died with the World Cup. It’s just a fancy way of doing friendlies ffs.

I like it, we could either have a bunch of games like the US & Swiss games or we can have players showing passion more regularly. Can you imagine the Spanish looking as down as they did losing against England in a friendly. They were really pushing in the last 20 mins or so which made for an exciting game.

I believe the players are looking to embrace, there was some good points made about the early European tournaments and how small they were and how people saying they wouldn't last, etc., this is the same. as mentioned, I really like it and I hope it truly kicks off as an important part of International football.

As for the game, thought we were excellent throughout and didn't panic (too much) after conceding. Which shows the maturity we have already despite it being a young and improving side.

And Southgate hasn't had anywhere near the amount of credit he should have. Coleman was similar with wales. The media here love to batter a manager that's not doing well, but when they do, they never get the same level of praise.
You're joking aren't you?! The media love in with Southgate is nauseating. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the praise like, but honestly not a day goes by without the press running a story about how incredible he is.

The build him up to knock him down, it has always been the same.

Coleman for Wales isn't a fair comparison, as the vast majority of Welsh people don't care about the national team. We were proud of the boys when they did so well in the Euros, but we know it was a fluke.

I think he deserves a lot of credit, done a great job I think. He has always said he's building for the future.
At least he's thought the job through and planned it, unlike some who throw the superstars in despite being crap for their Country.

There was a mass love in about his Waistcoats but I've seen more praise about the love train and the players like Kane. Not that I read much media stuff anyway though so could be wrong.

Honestly it's a constant bombardment of articles, tweets etc as if he's completely revolutionised management by just being a seemingly decent bloke and picking players on form. As I say, he's done a good job undoubtedly, but he's definitely not under appreciated.

Managed to navigate his way out of a trickier group than your idol and with worse players, what does that say about Senor Brownshoes?
It was the Mickey Mouse Nations League. No one's arsed about it. They're just a glorified set of friendlies.
