Southgate and England

Watched the second half in a bar in Bristol, Tennessee. I missed the third goal because the locals are so friendly that they love to talk to us. I don't know if it's just because we are English or that they're just so nice. My money is on the latter.

Cannot be arsed with the Rooney love-in.

Top goal scorer for England but might as well have stayed home every major tournament after Euro 2004.
The management in every single one of those tournaments was awful. At one point in 2010 they played a flat midfield four of Gerrard Lampard Barry and Milner. I'm sure that produced some flowing attacking football that made it easy for the forwards to produce.

So after all that whinging about how this was a big match for America and how playing Rooney against them was such an insult and mistake, England brushed them aside with ease

They're not very good that's abundantly clear but they didn't look like they weren't trying or were happy to get battered and let Rooney have his moment. This was not a testimonial yet what treated as such by the English management. Insulting.

They really need the Netherlands to get through if they want to win this Nations League. Not that they can't beat France but I just generally think you should avoid playing Mbappe if at all possible. Obviously Ronaldo and Portugal will be tough especially with it in Portugal but I see England as favorites against the Swiss or Dutch.
