Spineless journalists?

Okeffe joining the Dbb headlock bandwagon is typical of him, allegedly headlocked on the 3rd of Jan, Everton wait 11 days to a) report it b) send it out to there client journalists to besmirch this fanbase
And that idiot lapped it up. The board waged war on the fanbase yesterday, there positions are untenable

It's bad enough having a crap manager , terrible players and an incompetent board of directors but to compound it all Kenwright DBB and the rest of them have now embarked upon a crusade to blame the fan base and drive a wedge between the fans and the club just to try and save their own skin .
Journalists are supposed to seek out the truth and expose liars not simply accept as fact any line trotted out by Moshiri Kenwright or his accomplices .

What we need are journalists prepared to ask tough questions, to shine a light on the dealings of this board and expose the liars.

I fear that something far more important is at stake than relegation, that is a fight for the soul of Everton FC.
The news about Everton will be written for the entertainment of other fans and that's generally journalism in the UK now just another form of entertainment. Who wants facts opinions sell much more.

This is a recorded meeting from years ago between Evertonians unhappy with the club/board and the Echos lack of constructive reporting of the club . Dave Prentice and Greg O Keefe in attendance. If you have the time give it a listen.

Which version is this? Edited or unedited?

As a profession these days it largely attracts sycophants who are afraid to upset anybody lest their questions be ignored.

That’s how it works down under anyway, any journalist who actually tries to drum up any real story is shunted off to the side (one recently had his house firebombed for uncovering corruption in local politics, for example).
Journalists are expected to produce a constant stream of content these days, so they can't be too critical or they lose access to the source of most of that content. As a result, it means that the line between PR and journalism is wafer thin.

Don’t underestimate the role of RS influence in the corporate (RS are a massive click/revenue generator for advertising) and national media.

To have EFC pushed out of the Premier League is absolute jackpot for the RS in making it a one club city (we become an irrelevance and non entity once relegated). There will undoubtedly be RS benefiting agendas at play here too.

None of which is to take away from the fact that our current circumstances descend from 30 years of decay and amateur leadership.

See if there's a Destination Kirkby thread knocking about. It's like deja vu all over again..

Journalism integrity is an oxymoron

The narrative was set up before the game; Everton fans bad, physical assaults, board advised not to attend. Then the absolute idiots after the game, proved it all to be true in the mind of the general public. The media battle is lost, the fans are displayed as spoilt thugs and poor Bill and his luvvies are the victims. Congratulations all
