Spineless journalists?

Protesters were done like kippers yesterday.

The club statement and the release of the DBB story set the narrative prior to the game, as the club knew full well that some people were bound to do a bit more than sit in at the end.

And so it proved. Ask yourself this - if the security review threw up such serious concerns that the board had to stay away, why did they allow players to drive home from the ground rather than use the coach and police escort they came with. They knew what would happen. They knew it would reinforce the narrative that the fans are acting wrongly and putting noble stalwarts on the board as risk.

Surely they would have thrown tom davies out, locked the door and wait for the reaction before leaving

The headlock incident was mentioned again on MOTD

Has there been evidence produced for this? I believe it allegedly took place inside the ground? Surely people saw it take place? Why was it not reported after the game v Brighton?

CCTV, loads of camera phones and witnesses, but yet there’s no evidence.

What did Lineker say? that “a rumour says..”

Of course. And while the general public will happily paint Evertonians as Scouser thugs, I think this little stunt has backfired on Kenwright. I mean, if it was a police advisory, there would be no question of its veracity. But the "instruction" to stay away came from a "Security & Safety Advisor". So, not the police, then.

On top of that, the DBB headlock allegation came out of nowhere, something like 10 days after it allegedly occurred, with no rumour, no witnesses, and no CCTV evidence or police report to confirm it even happened.

Kenwright is getting old. He wouldn't have made these blunders in his stitch-up stunts of the past.

It's bad enough having a crap manager , terrible players and an incompetent board of directors but to compound it all Kenwright DBB and the rest of them have now embarked upon a crusade to blame the fan base and drive a wedge between the fans and the club just to try and save their own skin .
Journalists are supposed to seek out the truth and expose liars not simply accept as fact any line trotted out by Moshiri Kenwright or his accomplices .

What we need are journalists prepared to ask tough questions, to shine a light on the dealings of this board and expose the liars.

I fear that something far more important is at stake than relegation, that is a fight for the soul of Everton FC.

So called fans hardly covering themselves in glory either

Lineker is a tool in general. His hosting of the World Cup coverage was pathetic, constant whinging about Qatar the country and parroting dubious, even fake news stories, taking every opportunity to talk about anything other than football. It was predictable he'd come out in support of the board. He's just one of them teacher's pet types that lacks any semblance of critical thinking skills
If he was truly that against it surely the logical thing would have been to avoid taking part in the coverage?

Same goes for Neville, Ferdinand and the rest of them who kept complaining despite being happy to be paid covering it.
