He won a couple of stages at the Giro as well. Guess it was such an amazing year that a lot of people didn't get a mention. Ronaldo for instance, scores 40+ goals, wins PL and CL as well as the Ballon D'or yet isn't even on the shortlist for overseas. It's been a remarkable year for sport.

Take a tent up into the Alps. A great day out. You wouldn't see Cav winning in the Alps mind you, he'd be slogging along at the back. Give him a flat road with a sprint finish though and none are better. Of course, this year sees the return of both Armstrong and Contador. Should be a cracker, especially with Hautucam on the penultimate day.
Cavendish is from the Isle of Man as well so kind of local to you boys up there.

the tour of britain or milk race or somethin' comes near me, along the hilariously named "**** Lane", will he be in the sprint to slags bottom ?
Depends how his season goes I guess. The Tour of Britain is towards the end of the year and normally happens at the same time as the Vuelta in Spain (the final grand tour of the year), so you usually get riders who havn't trained for the Vuelta riding here instead. I think Cavendish will be going for the green jersey in the tour this year (as best sprinter) so that will be his focus. Can't see him riding the Vuelta so if he has enough puff left he may well do the Milk race.
