I actually think he may end up as the barcodes boss. His long time second in charge is the caretaker at St James' now and said on Saturday that he'd been apparently assured he'd be staying at the club post the new appointment.

To me this smacks of assurances from the potential new manager as who else could possibly offer him this job security post the appointment? Martinez for Newcastle sounds a possible?

For Spurs I'd love the hapless former Newcastle fan ... Sorry...manager John Carver to make his comeback - I reckon a 5 million to 1 shot but wouldn't that be brilliant. Acted every bit as though he was just a fan dragged from the crowd and put in the Newcastle hot seat, laughable really he was just so incompetent. Had no more clue than the average Geordie fan on the 'terraces' (i know it's all seater).

All but actually cried his eyes out after every game in his post match interviews too - really was just like a die hard fan in charge and was absolutely useless. My personal favourite Newcastle manager.

Matrtinez would be a wonderful appointment for them, as he`d have them relegated by the New Year and his appointment would provide hours of fun with @davek, as he desperately backed himself into the worlds biggest corner, trying to find excuses for him lol

Conte and Levy is a worse combination than Mourinho and Levy.

Levy is a snake, a minge bag and has has full control of everything and Conte is would want a load of cash, full control and doesn`t like being told what he can and can`t do.
This, Levy is the common denominator in all that is wrong with Spurs since he took command, apart from building a new stadium he has wasted zillions on a succession of new managers who have been disastrous appointments, that could never happen at Goodison, oh err .....

I wanted Conte for the US national team. However in hindsight Conte probably wouldn't got along too well w/ the US FA and walked out the door giving them 2 middle fingers right before the WC. So its probably for the best.

Now Spurs might have the same problem w/ Conte-Levy this could end up really bad.

Therefore my suggestion would be for spurs to hire Gregg Berghalter. A sentient warm cup of milk.

The real mistake was sacking Poch. I understand things can get stale after a while, but swapping Poch for Mourinho wasn't a good idea.
100% - and that's not hindsight talking, as is often the case. Most people with an opinion on it at the time thought it was madness. Pochettino took Spurs to the next level, and they were never going to fare better under Mourinho, who was well into his soured milk phase by then. Sacking Pochettino was the mistake that's lead them to here.
