i would sell everyone except garner and rebuild the team as follows: -

-------------------------Slonina------------------------------

Sergio Gomez------Harwood-Bellis------Callum Doyle -----Rico Lewis

----------------------Garner------------Patino-----------------------

Diallo--------------------------Palmer-------------------------Elanga

----------------------------------Broja--------------------------------------

My point is, its not about the rules, its about cashflow and the owner doesnt even have the money to finish the stadium.

So with cashflow...

If the club generates £30mil in sales this summer...what would that show as cashflow?

As I pointed out Zat, that would barely cover our accounting loses.

But we can probably afford to spend what we earn from sales, that seems "safe enough".

I think theres a general misconception that we cant spend freely due to FFP or the rules, I suspect its solely down to us being a loss making business who's owner no longer is able or wants to pick up the slack. There was always going to be some tightening of the belt, you know with the whole 700million+ Stadium getting built, we lost huge revenues due to USM pulling out also.

So whilst your maths is right in a way, it doesnt account for the other factors, 1 being an owner who I personally feel is not willing/able to pay our bills and 2 that its not just a FFP balancing act we need to perform.

There will be sales and there will be players bought, of that im fairly certain, hell if Onana was to leave, maybe 1 or 2 others, we could have 70-80m to play with, but I doubt we will be seeing the "mega" spend you feel we are able. Time will tell I suppose.

As for actual figures, I have no idea, I could look at the accounts, add the 1, subtract the 2, but its impossible to know, there are Stadium costs, there are loses we coughed away due to COVID, many things. What I do know is that we have made huge loses over the last few years and I dont think we are a club who is ready to roll the dice on buying a load of youngsters and hoping we hit enough pay dirt to pay the piper.

I ain't got a clue about finances and ffp (not sure Everton have also)....

But this season of stabilisation... I am just hoping to see a striker, left back and right mid as a minimum to bring in.

Ideally we can keep hold of Onana, Branthwaite and of course Pickford.

Then raise some funds from the likes of Gray and Simms (Iwobi if we can... still awaiting that CL club to come in for him), and get shut of as many of the following as possible. Keane, Maupay, Gomes, Alli, Gbamin

Remember, Im merely pointing out that 'if' we sold e.g £30mil worth of players then we 'could' spend £150mil that window (if their book values were zero and if new players were on 5 year deals) under the rules.

Im not saying we should, or will...only that we 'could'.

Depends on the structure of the deals and when the money is actually in our accounts

Exactly + of course ;)

I'm 99% certain it doesn't work like that mate.

If you're referring to the loophole Chelsea previously exploited then that's been closed as of today.

Even Arsenal, with Wenger, sold players to pay for their stadium.

It's outrageous anyone thinks we are splashing any cash this summer. We are going to try to have minimal net spend, with the hopes that Dyche can find free transfers and cheap players he thinks will be able to do just enough of a job for us to stay up again

That's reality

Absolutely this.
Said this before and you can vault if you like, but we will line up players, whilst working behind the scenes to sell Onana and maybe a few others, Grey, Simms, Holgate, hopefully Iwobi.
Net result will probably be a small trading profit this summer.
We won't see any of the Gordon and Kean money in the transfer kitty.

I've been looking at the outgoings this past year and we've shifted alot of rubbish and high wages out of the club.

I'm actually starting to think the board are trying to be more sensible now and we do have a better transfer strategy.

We will probably start being active after July 1st. We've returned a net profit in transfers last season but I guess we've absorbed alot of stadium costs. The financial accounts will be interesting, surely our wage to turnover ratio has fallen!?

Kean £30m
Nkounkou £2m
Mina free
Townsend free
Davies free
Begovic free
Richarlison £60m
Gordon £45m
Allan free
Sigurdson free
Tosun free
Rondon free
Delph free
Kenny free
