For me, thats where KEIIOCOC falls down and loses some support. Its not about Kirbyk being in Liverpoo for me. I dont even live in the City, but I realise that Everton are a Liverpoo Club and we should be trying to stay in it.

For me, even if the cowshed was round the corner from Goodison, it still fails on so many levels. Every single 1 which has been spoken about many, many times.

Im open minded, I have been from the start, I was even pro Kirbyk at the start, but I realised that we werent getting a free World Class Stadia, which we could grow as a club, we are renting a mid range stadia, that is only different from Goodison in the fact that it wont have posts in the way. And will only make us money if we fill over 94% every game, something which we cant even do at a 40,000 seater GP. But the posts, put people off? Lets see how many people the move to kirbyk would put off.

Like you MG, I was also initially in favour of the proposal, although somewhat reluctantly like many. I felt that it was a case of Hobson's Choice as we could afford nothing else. However, Wyness told us the prime reason for moving was to generate additional funds to support the manager but this would be based on an estimated increase in revenue of approx. £10 million (apparently this will equate to about £6 million additional profit). This set the alarm bells ringing for me as it seems the necessary increase in debt means the club will be taking one heck of a gamble in the hope of a rather modest return. Then the transport situation started to come out into the open & the term "white elephant" sprang to mind. It seems to me this is the point BT is missing - Kirkby may be "deliverable", but is it viable? Not really, methinks. No matter how much we may want things on the stadium front to change for the better, this proposal doesn't become a good one because it's the only one this Board can offer. Sometimes you do have to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Knowsley Council taking great care to find voles a new home....whilst planning to boot residents out of their homes. The rotten borough.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, BT, but do you know Kirkby in relation to Liverpool? Like you, I'm also not a local to Everton (these days), but I do know Merseyside, Liverpool and Lancashire. I just get the feeling that you're coming into this debate without an awareness of the geography or the sociology of that region of the north west.

How about I say I can speak about the region of the south east that you're from with the authority that you have?

To answer your question I was born in London. Other than the Beatles and of course Everton I have no direct contact, relationship with the Mersey region.

But i am sure that Bill and Everton have an idea of what they are doing. The difficulty with those who try and say "What if this happened in London", is that London is too diverse a city. It already has 12 professional football teams, so moving would have to be set into another context.

For example, a team might want to locate into Notting Hill area. That area has patches of rich people, it contains the largest shopping mall in europe, but its a poor borough. They would also be fighting for support from QPR, Brentford etc.

Kirkby on the other hand is acknowledged as an Everton supporting stronghold. And while I don't want to diss anyone's area, the Walton district isn't exactly the West End of London, so we're not exactly leaving a rich area to move to a poor area. From what I understand, we are moving from a poor area to a poorer area, where regeneration may assist its development.

I don't see your point Neb?

You cant use regeneration as an argument. It's ridiculous arguing that two areas equally desperate for regeneration (Walton is a priority area for the City Council) be played off against each other to prove their worth for a stadium build. Kirkby an Everton stronghold? No more than any other part of Merseyside I wouldn't have thought...am sure there's Liverpool supporters from Kirkby who'd challenge that statement. You're way out of your comfort zone on the local knowledge front BT.

In terms of area, the average house prices around the site in Kirkby far outweigh the house prices in Walton. You would think we were leaving Chelsea for Beirut....
