Of course it does. It matters a lot. To original star wars fans, watching the same film again with a couple of different characters is not what we wanted. Just make a good star wars film ffs, it doesn't have to be similar to be good.

Also, the baddies face when he removed his mask - my 10 year old was in hysterics, he looks like Napoleon Dynamite!

I have many gripes about this film that I really want to put on here but do not want to spoil it.

I think people were so desperate to like it that they forgave it's averageness

thing is...you arent speaking for everyone, i know a few massive star wars fans who absolutely loved it, i'm a casual fan, i enjoyed it..also i liked how he looked..kind of dark but innocent

The film is like it is precisely because it has the Star Wars name! Don't see people having a problem with all the Bond films? Or Bourne, which started as essentially a modern Bond, yet everyone loved that for it!? The argument is a complete irrelevance.

The point being made is, it only got away with it because of the Star Wars name. If it had been made by Spielberg and called "Moon Battles" everyone would have said what a cheap copy of a great film, because it is made by star wars no one cares that it is exactly the same.

what is going on with computer games for this? thought there would be loads coming out...only battlefront and a few mobile games

imagine something like skyrim/the witcher in star wars universe!

And my point is, if it didn't have the Star Wars name, the film wouldn't have been "a cheap copy of a great film", so that argument is irrelevant.
