Just seen the new film finally .
I enjoyed it. pretty much they tried to recreate the original films and it kinda worked, a modern day version of it. Although my few thoughts.

The opening credits going on forever made me laugh, they had to explain so much at the start that the paragraphs kept on coming haha

Han solo role in the film, or his introduction was camp as hell. like it was pretty good up until then, and out if nowhere 'look who it is ? and they are up to shenanigans again! waste of a role if you ask me.

Also two clearly obvious story lines played out in front of us.

kalro rent Is going to turn good and fight alongside rey.
Also.......Luke is evil. :)
 
Also the film was like a star wars checklist which was kinda distracting
shield on snowy planet....check
all the characters referenced......check
something that blows up planets....check
plane flying down a channel before blowing up said planet destroyer......check
bad guy who is good inside....check
character who us secretly evil......check
old character dies at hands of bad guy.....check
rebel fleet being decimated in finale of film.....check (it's a trap!)

all in all it was literally the star trek film again, the director just lifted old movie stuff and put them in a new remake type movie and sold the tickets full price.
