State-owned clubs

I read last week in a Miguel Delaney article that the PL are drawing up plans banning ownership linked commercial deals, 17 clubs are in favour of it apparently.

You look at Cheat FC and £270 million of their £350 million commercial revenues (laughably the highest in the world) are with the Abu Dhabi investment Mubadala companies, their version of Saudi's PIF.

The Cheat FC chairman Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak is also on the board of Mubadala, their last 3 sponsorship deals from Mubadala of to sponsor cheat FC in the last 12 months Khaldoon is also the chairman of these companies, they added £70 million increase in commercial revenues form the season before, this is a serious conflict of interests, altogether Cheat FC have 9 commercial deals with Mubadala companies now.

PIF has literally a endless bottomless pit of money, already 3 companies are sponsoring NUFC, they have just signed a new shirt deal from £3 million a year to £25 million a year with a PIF company, their sleeve sponsor was £500k a season, they have one with a PIF company at £9 million a year. Look at PIF influence in world sport now in Formula 1, Boxing and now Golf, they are taking over to distract from their human right abuses and terrorism links of their country by tapping into sport with an aggressive sportswash policy.

PL need to get this ban underway or else the PL will be a P*ssing contest between 3 oil state investment funds if Qatar buy United, it will kill the PL and force clubs to breakaway and form another competition if the competitiveness is due to petro dollar human rights abusive states.

I will get you banned come hell or high water you little kopite marsupial.

Cheat - tick
Sportswash- tick
Petro Dollar - not yet

You've said 2 of your 3 favourite words in that paragraph.

Losing your touch.

I would encourage others to report him as I am.

Literally outed on that page. IanThrush86

Maybe when I was in my teens I would have been excited about it, now id hate it, would hate to be Chelsea or City.

I don’t recognise City as Champions to be honest, I love watching them play mind, but it’s not real, it’s not competitive sport.

Arsenal won the league this year for me and Inter the CL.

City or PSG winning trophies is like Lance Armstrong winning the Tour de France.

I actually pity City, Chelsea, PSG etc - the Clubs are dead - they are new sanitised franchises that’s all.

There's a lot in the news about state-owned clubs at the moment, with all the Saudi stuff, City in the CL final, Qatar trying to buy Man U.

How would you react if a petro state bought us? Would you happy or would it affect your support in a negative way?

For me personally I'm not really sure. I'm not sure I would take much pleasure in steamrollering English football like City are doing, if we would be owned by an authoritarian state. But maybe I would be able to get used to it. I don't really know.
I think it would see me fade away from the club in all honesty

Newcastle casually having one of their owners' many businesses become their new shirt sponsor to the tune of £25m a year. Think they're up about 300% on their previous sponsor.

There will be City fans who think the season is a failure if they lose tomorrow. It's a crazy place to be. United fans haven't enjoyed a season in years.

Win lots of trophies and have european cup finals or be owned by tight Yank vultures and have more of the same ?

State owned every day of the week.
