The team he picked last night are all players who are quality players/internationals.

The mix was fine, the team was fine, and this was proven by the domination of the first half.

The issue is the players dropped off and submitted to the totally different tactics of fulham in the second half.

First half against West Ham was the same, yet because there wasnt 8 changes, it was because West Ham played well. 2nd half last night, people want to find something to blame.

Fulham played well and we didnt second half, thats all. Itll happen plenty of times this season WITH our first 11

So the mix wasn't fine then, surely ? Football matches are 90 minutes mate.

No that was because Martinez picked the wrong team. Which is why he changed it at half time and we bossed them from then on.

The second half was, at least partly, because martinez made the wrong subs, imo.

In fact, go to the match thread and read back - no spite whatsoever. I created this thread because I identified a discussion point of interest. That's pretty much the end of it.

No I'm not. I'm saying he rotated the side, but I still think the side he put out he thought could do the job. Otherwise he'd put in the under 18s and be done with it.

So west ham didnt play well in the first half? Come on mate, they definitely did. They worked hard, pressed us high and it forced us to try trickier passes and even resort to the Jagielka punt more often than we'd like.

Even Sam Allardyce said that they tired in the second half as well as Lukaku coming on forced them to have to drop off more.
