I don't get what some people want from Naismith. He won most if not all of his aerial duels with a centre half who is about a foot taller, tracked back, made intelligent runs and scored with a cool, calm finish. I don't see what more he could've possibly done today.

Totally agree mate and just to confirm it is McCarthy and not McGeady who tracks back but doesnt put a foot in. Bobby was honest enough after the game, he knows the lads aint fit enough but sod all we can do about it now. We will win next week i reckon, its set up for an Everton win and then it wont be such a bad start.

Thats really bad management and i agree with goodlass.

Worse thing for me is that it looked like Arsenal had their eye on the second leg. Wenger just needed to kick them up the arse and tell them to turn the screw second half to get an unlikely point.

If that was the case they would have done that straight from the off on the second half, The didn't

It was evident they were coming back into the game once our lot looked like they were in quick sand
 

Having calmed down a little from my rage at the fiasco of what we did in the last 20 minutes, I have to say that Naisy shaded MOTM for me.

Shay Coleman, Gareth Barry and James McCarthy were very close.

But Distin and Jags ..................FFS !!

They did mate. First minute they carved us open with a move that saw Giroud blaze over.

They were more prepared to get stuck in 2nd half, no question at all. They had 13 attempts at goal most in the second half.

Come on Dave, They rarely threatened, Can't remember Howard doing anything or the back four being that troubled till the last 15 mins

Shaded it for me as we'll mate, not that it matters much.

No, they weren't great. That's my point really. But they upped it 2nd half and were more prepared to fight for the centre of the park. Giroud should have had 4 on his own, by the way. They turned the screw last 10 minutes and we went 'pop'. It wasn't great from them but it shows what these teams can do - they just need one chance and they have you rocking a bit.
