Dave, are you suggesting footballers are only interested in money?

SURELY NOT.!

Loyalty is long gone from football.Players look after their best interests and clubs do the same.If Naismith's career was finished because of his injuries,I wonder would Charles Green be so anxious to take him to court to fulfill his contract.
I think it is basically a Bosman type situation and the player is choosing to walk away from his old club.It happens all the time and is the reason that power has shifted from club to player.I have always believed that there should be some compensation for clubs for players of all ages and not just those aged under 23.

Regarding Naismith as a player,he looks good in Scotland but that is no guarantee that he would succeed in England, the same could be said of Jelavic and Arteta. There is no guarantee of success,Man City has spent several fortunes bringing the best players to their club, many of these have been very disappointing.I think the injuries that Naismith has had has made clubs cautious about signing him, other than that I am sure there would be a lot more interest. We really have no funds,a young player, very successful in his own league becomes available ,we have to take the chance.
I didn't want Gibson at all,I was wrong,David Moyes went for Jelavic while others dithered,if he and Weir and Jelavic want Naismith, thats good enough for me.

hes a real sweetie but you aint not never gonna see it cause you done made up your mind

He writes to a squadie and calls him a hero...that's just everyday activity at a club like Rangers, it was probably a circular they have typed up to be signed. It's part of their ideology.

Maybe if he donates his signing on fee to Claire House down here we can call him a good egg. He'd just have to scrape by on his doubled wages of £40K pw then.

Apparently he is having his medical today, As for Davek, i think you are going abit over the top mate, you're blowing it way out of proportion and acting as if he is some sort of evil schemer, fair enough you think what he is doing is wrong, but the way you are acting about it is abit pathetic, and if he signs it's going to negate your view on him because you have this bad cloud over your head when it comes to him.

It wont change if he bangs in a couple of goals. That'd make me about as unprincipled as him.

He's a scab. Any footy player doing what he's doing is.

Given the way he's quit rangers its not a massive surprise but his agent is playing a few clubs against each other and stokes interest as reported in the papers is genuine and they've got a more lucrative offer on the table. Im told we probably are still the favourites but I'm not sure we are at the signing or completing stage yet and I'd expect maybe more talks with us and the likes of stoke. Others hearing it's done might be right but I think there is a way to go yet.

Let's face it, he and his agent have a golden opportunity to get a payday they couldn't see remotely on the horizon this time six months ago. They are going to play both ends off against each other to force up the wages/signing on fee. If they're going to cop for this much flak back in Glasgow then they're going to make it worthwhile must be the thinking.

Did I say he had? I said he's a scab, and he is. A very rich young man wants more and doesn't give a flying fcuk about the club (he 'supports') left behind counting the cost.

What should we call him, a hero?
