[cough] James... it's Gordon JAMES Blair, makes all the difference ;) and Rangers are trying to pull a fast one because, well... you would if you saw millions of quid walking out the door... we both know that there's not many lawyers who won't tell a client that there's an angle to contest legally, it's how they make their money, the more arcane, convoluted and time consuming the better.
Football is already where you're lamenting, but there's far worse than this that goes on.

Oh and one more thing, he isn't rich beyond my wildest dreams, I have some awesomely wild dreams where I have a moonbase and spaceships and all kinds of shiny stuff... with the utmost respect, he's nowhere near.

You're going round in circles on that score: that same profession are advising the want-away players and their agents the polar opposite regarding what is and isn't allowed under TUPE to Green's lawyers...in other words it's contested territory.

The players and their agents have seen a grey area they can exploit. The only thing worth discussing here is if its a step beyond the usual sharp practice in football. I think it is.

He may not be the best... And far from it.

Nevertheless, a signing is a signing, and I'm excited to see him play for us.

It really isn't a grey area, the players signed no agreement with Green's organisation, they have no contract - Green's legal team can rattle all the sabres they like, the law is quite clear in this respect.

As for sharp practice, give over, the Club has defrauded the country out of tens of millions of pounds, it has left fellow clubs in financial difficulties with unpaid debts... you have to feel sorry for the fans, but none of this was the players doing and you can't blame them for not blindly going along with the newco, when the future of the newco is SO unclear.

Says it all about the morality (or lack of) in the game that post of yours. Your sympathy for a pampered player who's earned millions is misplaced. He's ****ed off and deprived the club he supported/supports of a fee.

Nick Barmby had more going for him than those players deciding to jump ship. At least we got some money for him.

Football isn't just a business. And these players are using a contested area in terms of the legitimacy of the transference of their registrations to waltz off to a big pay day. But that's ok...get his mates in too.

were you unloved as a child?

Of course it's a grey area. You simply stating it's not doesn't make it so. You're merely isolating Green's legal team from the counter actions of the player's lawyers and calling one absolutley right on the matter. The argument form newco is a clear one that requires a judgement. Therefore it's being contested...we can find a form of words that means the same if you like, but it all amounts to the same thing. By the way, you cant have your cake and eat it too: Murray and Whyte's oldco used fraud regarding taxes unpaid on the employee benefit schemes, not Green's company.

i was undecided til the scottish lads threw their oars in. now i`m quite happy if we get the lad. Davek mate, youve made your mind up over your perceived knowledge of naismiths position when in reality your going out on a limb over what your principles are- ffs - fenebache just won the league and are screwing us over yobo- its the way it is. EFC are renowned for playing fair so what gives man.

I wonder daveks going to come out of his shell, he so reserved with his opinions, bless.

It's a no brainer tbh! He's a good player who can play right, left, in the hole and up front.

He was considered the best player of the generation that produced the likes of Adam and S Fletcher - wheather you rate them or not they both hit double figures in the pl!

He has a proven tested partnership wwith jelavic.

Its like signing beckford - if it doesn't work out sell him on for a profit!

I've seen him play for killie and newco, he's above the standard of the spl tbh, he's a creator and scorer! Good technique, positioning, work rate is tremendous, but his biggest attribute is his footballing brain he anticipates how play will develop brilliantly and exploites it with movement and positioning!

If he signs he will be a big hit with our fans! Sort it!
