Which is exactly what the agents and runaways have calculated.

I cant believe we're talking this up so much. You'd think it was Ronaldo rather than a crock from a team that finished a distant second in a donkey derby.

Anyway, I heard he had his medical already and they're still laughing at the x-rays of his knees.

Doubt an x-ray would show anything wrong with his knee's

Ha ha will I ever learn 5 pages of arguing the toss and we're right back to the start - brilliant!(y)

Jelavic came from a "team that finished a distant second in a donkey derby" did he not? A lot of Rangers fans thought that Naismith was the better player too before his injury.

How can anyone make a judgement on him until he has signed and played. For certain people on here just remember remarks on Gibson and jelavic.

As a player who can offer far more than a second if not fourth tier Scottish division, why would he not move? Especially to a team that had him under false pretences. It's about time people woke up a bit and started living in the real world. If the company you worked for went under and another one offered you more money what would you do?

No he's a snide taking advantage of the situation. He should have been grateful that Rangers didn't sell him and gave him the chance to take part in their glorious return to the Scottish second tier. So what if he took a 75% pay cut in an aim to keep the club afloat, he's a scumbag who makes me sick. He's almost as bad as Hitler tbqh.

Haha, loving the hyperbole.

Everton’s Nikica Jelavic looks as though he will be re-united with former Rangers frontman Steven Naismith as David Moyes makes his first venture into the transfer market. Naismith who Jelavic described as a perfect strike partner looks to be set to follow the Croat south of the border and join the Toffees.

Naismith has refused to have his contract swapped over from Rangers to ‘Rangers Newco’ and has decided that his future lies elsewhere.
Naismith is one of 9 players who have asked to be released including Steven Whittaker, John Fleck, Alan McGregor, Sone Aluko, Jamie Ness and Kyle Lafferty in looking for a new club. Everton have been examing the legality of any deal amid fears that legal action could be taken by Newco should they enter into a contract with Naismith. However, it appears that they have a strong enough case to offer the 25 year old Scot a long term deal.

Naismith is a hardworking player who can play off the frontman as well as occupying wide areas of the pitch. Naismith began his career with Kilmarnock in 2004. He spent four years with the Ayrshire side before moving to Rangers in the summer of 2007 for a fee of £1.9m. While with the club he has won three consecutive league titles, a Scottish Cup in 2008 and the League Cup twice.

Naismith made his full international debut in 2007 against the Faroe Islands and has 13 caps, scoring two goals, against Spain and Lithuania.

Should Everton complete the deal it would represent a shrewd piece of business by David Moyes who is looking for options in attacking areas after releasing Denis Stracqualursi and James McFadden this summer.

It has been suggested that as many as nine clubs are interested in Naismith but Everton appear to have won the race for a man Nikica Jelavic described as being his best ever strike partner. Naismith’s committed style and fearless nature has attracted David Moyes’s attention and a deal looks likely to be concluded over the weekend barring any last minute hitches.

I've no idea if he will do any good but seeing as he worked well in partnership with Jelavic and is free and hungry for the chance i'd take him. Better than having to play Vic up front anyway.
