We're 7th in the PL. We need quality to push on. I say get that quality in first before you waste money signing seriously injured players who may or may not make the grade.

Agreed, but "get[ing] that quality in" isn't very easy is it? So we have to consider whether the squad will be stronger, weaker, or the same with the addition of Naismith. Since he's better than Osman/Coleman on the right and better than Cahill in 'the hole' I'd say it would be slightly stronger.

im absolutely fed up of davek fence sitting on issues, first it was kenwright - i still dont know if he thinks hes a good chairman or not and now its naismith ffs

There's 13 players training at Murray Park at the moment. That's because they transferred over to Rangers FC and havn't used a bull**** technicality to deny their club the chance to get a transfer fee for them. Some thought of their own accounts, others thought of the club they were at.

I've said it a huindred times about what this feller is doing: if the situation was visited upon Everton any player doing what he is doing would be seen as the Judas they clearly are.

I'm sorry mate but I just really do not agree with you one bit.

He owes it to himself to further his career and if the opportunity presents itself, you take it. Especially when your current/former employer has been dodgy as hell and cutting wages 75% etc etc.

I'm sorry, but you are kidding yourself if you think ANYONE, football player or otherwise, no matter how much money they earn, is going to accept a 75% pay cut, playing in a lower league and whatever else. Just to not be labelled a 'judas'. When you have a choice of going elsewhere and getting paid properly again!

Lifestyles vary based on salary too and I can guarantee he could not afford to upkeep his lifestyle on a 75% wagecut.

I personally think he had/has every right to terminate his contract and move free. Considering the contract he signed was under certain terms, terms which have now been pretty much made void by the actions of Rangers Football Club.

I'm lost here, the guy took a 75% wage cut when he could have very easily refused to do so. His company has been basically dissolved and he is not legally obliged to join another company of his previous firms choosing.

I have absolutely no problem with this at all....I have MORE of a problem with Rangers charging us for Jelavic when they havent paid his old club the transfer fee and will only end up paying a tiny % of it (if at all)....

And in fact Rangers were my scottish team so i am no biased in anyway.

I could give a flying fcuk about Rangers, they can end up in the Highland League as far as I'm concerned. There's a principle here. He's been paid handsomely as a player of that club (oh, and by the way, it was good of him to accept just 25% of his normal wages for a few months...when he was sitting on his arse anyway injured and unable to play!). It's merely his and his agent's position that he has no contract with the newco. It's all yet to be determined...hence the wait for the rat to be unveiled, IMO.

As for wages: apparently he's been on £20k pw up there; I dont believe he'll tip up here for anything substantially less than double that.

How do you figure out he's better?

Just seen on twitter that' pienaar is In the can to join and Dempsey + donovan could be on for a deal . The source is John merro 1

I thought i read somewhere that he is as good as Mc fadden if not a bit better. Can anyone clarify this because i hope to god he is a lot better than jimmy mac.

That would be more based on opinion mate. Some will agree, some will disagree.
From what ive seen, he is better than McFadden.

The 75% cut has ended. And all the defence of this feller around 'he doesn't want to play in Scot Div Three is a red herring...Rangers will be in the second tier only it looks like (and probably for just one season if they likely secure promotion).

We can talk about this feller's ability or lack of ability, his fitness levels or lack of fitness, I suppose.

One thing that isn't a debate of any real substance is whether Naismith has used a loophole to boost his income at the expense of former employees. He has, pure and simple.

I don't mind this kind of player, they can do a job at times and understand the grind of British football. The more important question tho is, "Are we ever going to sign anyone good ever again?".

I live in Glasgow. I go to Ibrox maybe five or six times a season with my Rangers supporting brother and his friends. I also get down to watch Everton around the same amount, plus see every other game on stream. When I'm doing things like this, my optic nerves send information to my brain, which then processes this information. He's faster and stronger than Osman, much more mobile. Better with the ball than Cahill or Coleman. He's not world class, but he's better than what we have in the weaker areas of our squad. It's not a dream signing, but it's an affordable upgrade that makes sense considering our horrible finances.

He was injured whilst playing for them, but thats beside the point. He HAS taken a 75% wage cut when HE DIDNT HAVE TO.

Whichever way you look at it, that is a fantastic and honourable gesture.

It is NOT his agents opinion that he has no contract with that club -- THERE IS NO CLUB !! This is actually the law mate.

It's the new company owner who is making up stories that he can freely take players of the old company -- when he can't, they are totally separate entities.

Theres actually no difference from a legal standpoint if the owners move the company to Guernsey....the player has absolutely nothing to do with the new company.

Nah I hear what you are saying but dont really agree. They signed up to play for Premiership Rangers who challenge for the Champions League and all that.

That has been taken away from them not by their own ineptitude but that of the people running the club. They have been lied to themselves so I cant blame them for buggering off. The club has been sold to them on false premises.

I think you are being a little too idealistic really. Footballers are all gits, all capable of being Judas' we have players who have jibbed off other clubs at the first opportunity so have every club. Its just the way it is.
