I've answered that before. The answer is no.

Look, I've always loathed the likes of Barmby for his antics. Shall I now jib all that and become a hypocrite to welcome this bit of piracy? I think I'll try and remain consistent.

I sort of meant in a purely football way mate as I've said I do understand your position and in total seriousness I admire your moral stance it says a lot about my character that any slight feeling of being uncomfortable ended once the deal was signed in the off chance the slightest hint is there thall disappear if and when he nets.

That's not what I'm saying. You're right, if the situation was reversed we'd hate Naismith and we'd be pissed at Rangers.

But the situation is not reversed. We get f*cked fairly often, so if we refuse to partake in the reverse when fortune (or misfortune) presents an opportunity, we're going to suffer.

That's the prevailing attitude at the moment. I understand that. My point is that you cant have your cake and eat it too. If this is ok then so is Barmby. If others are comfortable with that then that's their business.

You're having a laugh lad. If this happened to Everton and half a dozen players fcuked off when we could do with a transfer fee to keep the wolf from the door they'd never be able to come within a 20 mile radius of Liverpool again....and quite rightly so too.

I think you're having a laugh.

For one, the Rangers players don't have legible contracts; they become VOID once the club was liquidised and therefore do not command a transfer fee.
Secondly, has pointed out, the players took a 75% pay cut to help prevent the club going into administartion; combined i'd expect that to be a large amount of cash. SO you now expect them to have a reduced wage packet, play in a lower league therefore preventing them from progressing as a player because of bad management of the club.

I'm sorry mate, but if this happend to us tomorrow and Baines, Fellaini, Jelavic all said 'i'm sorry but where off' i'd be upset that I'd never get to see them at Goodison again, but I honestly wouldn't hold it against them.

Its not a case of Naismith forcing a move because Rangers had refused him permissions to speak to another club; it is a totally different situation

It's not black and white Dave.

Things like this will always be acceptable or abhorrent depending on your position in the situation. When you're losing the player, then it's natural to be aggrieved. When you're gaining one, it's natural to be elated. You'll make excuses either way.

I can accept that. I can accept that this, for Rangers, is a kick in the teeth and probably one in the groin too. But if the situation was reversed yes we'd be pissed -- but they would do the same too. As would every club. Where football and business are concerned, morality is second to legality.

So Nick Barmby, Rooney and Lescott are forgiven now? (Players by the way who's actions were less reprehensible than the runaways).

A totally different set of circumstances; all those players had contracts with Everton FC and forced a move. Naismith had no contract and didn't want to register with Rangers Newco

i`m up in court next month and i want Davek as my brief. he sure can defend the indefensible.

Surely he'll be ok with a full pre-season under his belt?

8 to 9 month lay off since November last year. Back to training August I've read.

There's no way a few pre season games are gonna get him back to fitness after 9 months off.

Dunno if he's doing rehab or anything to be honest, but I would be surprised if he's not gonna start fully playing or be able to play till christmas

We dictated if that player was sold. Naismith and his agent dictated when he moved. We got a lot of money. His old club got fcuk all when they were on their arse and almost out. They're the differences. And you're wrong about the contract situation. We've been over this in another (locked) thread.

Well its a signing that isnt a prospect who might become good in 3 years so thats something. Add a body to the small group of decent strikers we have on the books. Got feel bad for rangers though, think today scottish football is decided which league its going to play in, damn.
