We dictated if that player was sold. Naismith and his agent dictated when he moved. We got a lot of money. His old club got fcuk all when they were on their arse and almost out. They're the differences. And you're wrong about the contract situation. We've been over this in another (locked) thread.

His old club got 75% of his agreed wages for a set amount of time.

they where not employeed by Rangers Newco, thats why they became free agents, they had no employment

Lets be honest, if he comes in 10+ goals and half again in assists there wont be any issue with how he arrived.

Up to you Stevie.

Im backing the lad to be a steal.

Many certainly are but most did and still rate him above Jelavic , from reading your posts I understand your still not convinced on him but IF he continues his end of season form and Naismith is as anywhere as good obviously qe'd all be happy wouldn't we ?

You're having a laugh lad, not a soul in their right mind rated him above Jelavic, the 2011/12 season was his standout year, before that he was nothing super special, just a fan favorite. Jelavic was a class above.

Tbf there has been a lot of Rangers fans tweeting him wishing him the best and saying that Everton have a good player on their hands.

But yes, I've heard a couple of shouts like the ones you just mentioned too. Think he's split the fans a bit there.

I think you're just being fooled by the tweets he is retweeting, he isn't really going to retweet people who don't like him is he. He's hated by the majority of the fans.

not sure how his performance has a bearing on how his transfer occured?

If i'm wrong mate than my apologies but the rangers sites etc seemed to be saying when they were losing Jelavic and around then it was Jelavic they seemed happier to lose.

I agree on the tweets though

Suuuuper super Steve, suuuper super Steve, suuper super Steve, super Steven Naismith.

WELCOME ABOARD STEVE.

We dictated if that player was sold. Naismith and his agent dictated when he moved. We got a lot of money. His old club got fcuk all when they were on their arse and almost out. They're the differences. And you're wrong about the contract situation. We've been over this in another (locked) thread.

His old club doesnt exist anymore.

What goes around comes around, btw. If we get seen as a club that holds the knife to the throat of another club in trouble dont start complaining when we get mugged by others. I bet others in the game have taken note.
The others who were also making offers for Naismith? There are four-five clubs in the Prem which can mug us and when they can they will -- the fact we legally signed a player who was going to leave regardless of our actions is not going to make an ounce of difference in their dealings with us. I'm not even touching the "morality" of the situation here -- you and I disagree and that's fine -- but from a pure standpoint of our dealings/relations with other clubs I don't believe it will make the slightest bit of difference.

Anyway ... a new player in ... before pre-season ... it's a dream come true. 100% happy.

I think you're having a laugh.

For one, the Rangers players don't have legible contracts; they become VOID once the club was liquidised and therefore do not command a transfer fee.
Secondly, has pointed out, the players took a 75% pay cut to help prevent the club going into administartion; combined i'd expect that to be a large amount of cash. SO you now expect them to have a reduced wage packet, play in a lower league therefore preventing them from progressing as a player because of bad management of the club.

I'm sorry mate, but if this happend to us tomorrow and Baines, Fellaini, Jelavic all said 'i'm sorry but where off' i'd be upset that I'd never get to see them at Goodison again, but I honestly wouldn't hold it against them.

Its not a case of Naismith forcing a move because Rangers had refused him permissions to speak to another club; it is a totally different situation

Mate you're looking at it the wrong way, it's not about him leaving, no one expected him to stay if Rangers were relegated, no one would hold that against him, the reason he is hated at Ibrox is because of the way he went around it. Naismith was known as a self proclaimed Rangers fan, talked about how glad he was to be playing for his boyhood heros and then;

1) he chooses to not sign onto the Newco even though it was clear he would have been allowed to be sold off, but instead he left without the contract so he will receive a nice big sign on fee at Goodison - Rangers fans would have been happy with 1m for him.
2) in his press conference the self-proclaimed Rangers "fan" stated he owed nothing to this club as "The Rangers" (oldco) no longer existed and he had supported the oldco and played for them, he wouldn't call the newco Rangers (which they are) so he could distance himself.

He is one hundred and twenty percent a class a rat. Imagine a player being so glad to be at Everton as they were his "boyhood heros" and then Everton get liquidated and he runs off to get more money for himself and says that Everton don't exist. That's why the fans hate him. The fans are angry at Davis, but not as angry because he didn't make any statements like that.

Well as far as the whole ethics of it all that davek has said for, I'm not saying there isnt a moral issue. But we're everton, a club famous for not having a pot to piss in for a while now, a team thats been out spent by lower league clubs in the past, think we will take what we can get and not lose too much sleep over it. Can't afford the moral high ground all the time.
