A totally different set of circumstances; all those players had contracts with Everton FC and forced a move. Naismith had no contract and didn't want to register with Rangers Newco

This, in a nutshell. If Rangers had put the contracts in place and signed the players up there would be no issue. The guy bought the ground, the training ground ( which alone was worth about 16-20M), and so on for what was it £5-6M. He didn't buy the players or put them on contracts, so tough. If our players contracts run out or are not renewed the same happens to us, tough...
