Don't see how him and the other ex-Rangers players are sh*tting on anyone. Rangers are dead, they don't exist any more. We've signed a free agent. End of. This is nothing like anything of Everton's past, so don't make comparisons.

This is the club who's just faced a judgement today about what league it starts in next season? That one that doesn't exist? Yeah, OK.

They were under contract, and those contracts were transferred over to newco under TUPE. Any player not wanting to transfer over their contracts had to pipe up and say so before a certain date had passed. None of them did. That's what the club's position is, but the players' agents have interpreted it another way so they can get their clients out of their existing contracts and onto bigger wages down here.

Out curiosity, what will happen with the Jelavic money we owe? RUmour that we only paid £2.5m upfront with installments taking it up to 5.5m. Since Rangers dont exist anymore?

I think the overwhelming legal advice (employment law wise) is that they are within their rights but would have missed the window if they'd returned to training. The only issue is likely to be over player registration which is obviously an anomaly legal wise and limited only to football . Rangers won't agree so youd think the SFA will refuse the FA's request pending examination of the situation. I know at least one club involved has had legal adobe that the worse case scenario will be similar to the Webster ruling (minor compo) & they believe if Scottish football refused the players & it all went wrong at Rangers they'd be heavily heavily criticised and would maybe face further action themselves .

Can I just say this site certainly lends itself to actual debate rather than petty name calling & it's to your credit .
