I love the fact we've nicked Rangers two best players, see Trevor Steven and Gary Stevens. plus it looks like they're a group of bitter neds who have thoughts above their station about the size of their club.

Reading the rangers forum and I was thinking..... What do they expect?

The will be in the 3rd division now and there is no way he will be able to maintain his old lifestyle and will have to cut down and maybe get a new house and stuff if he stayed. Not to mention the fact that who wants to play 3rd division football anyways!!

I think the overwhelming legal advice (employment law wise) is that they are within their rights but would have missed the window if they'd returned to training. The only issue is likely to be over player registration which is obviously an anomaly legal wise and limited only to football . Rangers won't agree so youd think the SFA will refuse the FA's request pending examination of the situation. I know at least one club involved has had legal adobe that the worse case scenario will be similar to the Webster ruling (minor compo) & they believe if Scottish football refused the players & it all went wrong at Rangers they'd be heavily heavily criticised and would maybe face further action themselves .

The overwhelming legal advice as per the ambulance chasers employed by the players and their agents. Most I've read from a neutral perspective are saying that the interpretation is one that requires a judgement and that the Green newco has a case but the costs and time-consuming nature of it would be against them (something no doubt factored into the decision of those players to leave). It's difficult to see it at the moment because they're in such a mess and have other more urgent battles to fight, but I can see them eventually coming back to these players and the clubs who signed them up. They'll want to demonstrate
they cant be cherry picked without those doing the picking facing a real fight.

It's all been a classic case of opportunism by greedy players and agents. If anyone cant see that or isn't arsed about it that's their lookout. There's no dressing this up as the club deserving everything it got I'm afraid. That's just nonsense designed to square an intellectual circle.
Can I just say this site certainly lends itself to actual debate rather than petty name calling & it's to your credit .

...most of the time.

Do love one of the posts.

**** everton, i hope Naismith ****s his ligaments up good and proper and FIFA slap everton with a transfer embargo.

Well it has felt like that at times these past few off seasons aha.

Bill would love that."Sorry David, FIFA say no...and I had a real war chest for you this year too. Ah well!"

Mate you're looking at it the wrong way, it's not about him leaving, no one expected him to stay if Rangers were relegated, no one would hold that against him, the reason he is hated at Ibrox is because of the way he went around it. Naismith was known as a self proclaimed Rangers fan, talked about how glad he was to be playing for his boyhood heros and then;

1) he chooses to not sign onto the Newco even though it was clear he would have been allowed to be sold off, but instead he left without the contract so he will receive a nice big sign on fee at Goodison - Rangers fans would have been happy with 1m for him.
2) in his press conference the self-proclaimed Rangers "fan" stated he owed nothing to this club as "The Rangers" (oldco) no longer existed and he had supported the oldco and played for them, he wouldn't call the newco Rangers (which they are) so he could distance himself.

He is one hundred and twenty percent a class a rat. Imagine a player being so glad to be at Everton as they were his "boyhood heros" and then Everton get liquidated and he runs off to get more money for himself and says that Everton don't exist. That's why the fans hate him. The fans are angry at Davis, but not as angry because he didn't make any statements like that.

I don't keep enough of an eye on Scotland to know if that's true, but if it is, that's not cricket.

Anybody at FIFA that's ever met Bill would know not to waste the paper, we do our own embargo's up here.

Again find it hard to disagree with much of it . Rightly or (mostly ) wrongly I do tend to fight the agents corner but I certainly agree there is an issue with opportunism. However a good example is the players took a 75% cut to allow a CVA when everyone and I mean everyone knew that would never happen the moral high ground was lost with the club there as that was I'm sure you'll agree just opportunism on your behalf . As ive said i think the whole green debacle could clearly influence wanting to move on as let's face it and I'm sure we'll agree its a mess.

So going from the Scottish third division to a top 7 Premier League club is a backwards step which is all about money?

Riiiiight...
