Well Nais ahs got a tough no nonsense streak in him. How about drop Barry and move Nais back to take over that role.

It might be worth a try. It might work as a temporary fix until the end of the season. He could still be potent upfront from set pieces and the like when he gets a chance to go forward. The problem with this idea is that i don't think Naismith is as competent defensively as Barry and our defence is currently our Achilles heel.

Not yet we don't. The clubs have agreed a fee but Naisy hasn't decided if he is going or is staying to fight for his place. Few other clubs interested as we know.

Naismith was ready to go in the summer to Norwich, until Martinez blocked it, and he probably realises now that he's not going to much game time with us, so think he would jump at the chance of moving on for first team football.

Naismith can't pass the ball 5 yards, his positional awareness defensively will be poor and he's not that great in the tackle

Would make a great DM

Things change though, Scotland are no longer going to the Euros and personal circumstances have also changed. Staying and fighting for his place might suit him now. Also why would anyone want to go to Norwich from Everton, especially with over 2 years of his contract remaining.

Naismith seems a genuine lad, and I think he would rather be playing week in, week out, rather than sitting on the bench hoping that he may get a game now and again with us.

I'm sure Martinez has dropped Naismith into midfield a couple of times during games (at least that's what it looked like) He is lost in deeper positions, he needs to be operating in and around the box, he's a goal poacher, not a winger, not a midfielder!

"He doesn't half put a shift in"
"He's a good lad cos he feeds the homeless"
"He's the best finisher at the club"

Proper can't wait to see the back of him so we don't hear stuff like this anymore!

He's crap and always has been.
If half the talented knobs we have in the first team put as much effort in as Naismith, we would not be conceding goals left right and centre
