I think Naismith is a really good player. He's intelligent, get's in good positions, holds the ball up and distributes it well and can finish and doesn't bottle it when through on goal. He might not be lightning quick, or a flair player but he does what he's good at consistently. He's one of those players who doesn't always stand out unless he scores but he links up the play really well and we normally look better as a team with him on the pitch.

Congrats Naisy, hope that some of your detractors on here will realise that even tho' you're not our first choice striker...you're defo our go to guy. Hope Gordon Strachan has watched MOTD coz you should defo start against Poland before Fletcher.

Technically he is not an outstanding footballer, but he as outstanding performer on the pitch who gives 110% every time he pulls on an Everton shirt.

He reminds me of two Everton payers from the past (in my time anyways) Kevin Richardson and Allen Harper. For those Blues too young to remember they were not that naturally gifted either, but they were our main subs in the astonishing 84-85 season. The 10 outfield players who always played the 4-4-2 positions to perfection were never going to be disposed, but I tell ya this, when they were used they played out of their skins, and just like Naismith they contributed massively because of their commitment and guile. We saw that perfectly today from Nais, and it reminded me of those halcyon days.
