Yeah but comparing to Barkley is harsh, the lads different gravy mate.

Check out John'o by the way

Epic
Stones' distribution is first class. No question about it. Almost 90% on average. Of course, he has the play in front of him and it's a bit different for players further up the pitch because they have a lot more pressure on the ball to deal with. But Naismith's passing stats since he's been here are atrocious. On average I'd say he fails to find a team mate with a quarter of all passes made. He's basically an obstacle we have to overcome in the match rather than an aid to us.

Since when was a players ability defined by his pass % anyway?
A players ability to pass is pretty fundamental to any footballer, surely? I'd concede it doesn't tell the whole story on quality of pass and significance of them, but the greater number of times they can make successful passes is a reasonable indicator as to how competent they are...especially if they consistently have lower % completion rates than others in their position.

There's no doubt that his passing isn't on the same level as Barkley, Cleverley etc. I don't think that statistic can be used to define his contribution to the team though. My opinion is that he's doing fine this season. If he starts stinking the place out then fair enough, he's doing fine though. He's scored 4 goals and he probably hasn't played 50% of the team's game time, we're not even through September yet. I think he's linking up well with Barkley too whereas last season the two of them didn't look like they could play in the same team. I like the interchanging of our forward players, whether or not Naismith is in the team, it's a definite improvement on last season.

Impact sub is his role, substandard when he starts and seems to get wound up more than he winds up also, got a role to play off the bench but not starting games

He's a grafter, good for playing against better teams where we need to get in people's faces, but to break down a team getting behind the ball? Nope.

Thought this game would have suited him but then he was playing it out on the left.

I guess at the minute we just keep rotating him and Kone as their form fluctuates.

The best he should hope for is a place on the subs bench, has very little effect when starting and usually manages to kick the
opposition more than the ball
