Good job that happened then really isn't it?

Not the injury to Cleverley of course, but the fact he is still here.
Who knows how the game against Chelsea would have unfolded if Cleverly rather than Naismith had been on the pitch. Chelsea were in poor form at the time - and still are, tbf.

He cant keep dining out on those goals, that's for sure. He's offered nothing besides that since the window shut.

Circumstances change. The only reason he's here now is because of a challenge by Eric Dier that kept Cleverley out of the team.

I disagree, yes they have occupied the same starting position in the team but cleverley and Naismith are very different players. Cleverley is more of a midfielder playing out wide whereas Naismith is an attacker playing out wide. They are not like for like
Why sell him? Why not keep him and still buy a playmaker/number 10?

I don't get why people want to sell all our players, we need a squad and players that can do different things in different situations. Naismith can fulfil a role at the club he's shown it time and again.

Exactly, it's a squad game and we are benefitting from lots of competition and different options, we shouldn't be selling anybody!

.

We have played 7 league matches and 2 cup. He has only started in 3 matches it total and has 4 goals.

It's a team game, he adds a bit of steel, gives 100% every time he plays and is a very decent slotter, thus offering quite a lot, I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that one, they can't all be superstars!

leaving his scottish nationality behind has improve him, no question, but he will develop slower than if he had never been hindered with it, he will get there though

Haha, to be fair he probably wouldn't get a game for Scotland anyway. Even if Iniesta had a Scottish granny (Agnes Iniesta) Strachan would still pick Scott Brown and Charlie Mulgrew

You are beginning to see why he should almost never start. He is way too limited on the ball, and he ruins good movement way too often for my liking.
When we need some passion or a more direct approach to the game, he is ideal. Nobody gives you more effort than he does.
