I did highlight that signing on bonuses and agent fees would match the disparity (if any) between the figures...hence not including Gueye.

It's really arbitrary though, just picking those two. All in all, I'd look at all outgoings vs incoming and I'd say we're better off.

Just not by the margin we wanted.

They were just the two which matched the £40mil figure really.

I like Williams and think he will be good for us for 2 seasons yet i feel that Bolasie is a waste of money. On paper id actually have him with the deadwood in the squad rather than in the first 11...

Think we could have signed a far superior player for the price paid.

Based on stats Gueye looked like being a good player. At the same time Bolasie looks like being a disaster and I agree that Deulofeu and Mirallas either side with Lennon in the squad also should put Bolasie as 4th choice or 3rd choice for either wing
Purely on the basis that he's terrorised Everton (or at least me anyway) for the last 3 seasons I think we should give Bolasie more of a chance. He's only played a couple of games for us. Loved the double body swerve at the weekend when he left 2 Stoke players on their asses. Not on the official site highlights sadly.

Think he'll certainly entertain us this season. Agree I'd probably start with Del and Kev on either wing at the moment introducing Bolasie from the bench when the opposition tires. Probably start him against the top teams as he gives us the outlet ball to take pressure off the defence at times.

Good signing though. Crazy price but then there weren't many Gueye bargains to be had this window. Don't really understand why some of you are giving him such a hard time already.

For me, it seems like a crazy signing.

Its £28million and even if lower then when you factor in agent fees and a signing bonus its really an incredibly strange purchase.

He wont get any better than he was at Palace and to be honest Nathan Redmond went to Southampton for £10mil who looks a superior player who can improve.

If we had signed him on deadline day i think most would be upset and yet when he was signed i think most let it go thinking if we were buying him for such a ridiculous price there must be lots of money in the kitty for top stars

If he doesnt improve then were stuck with him on big money into his 30s.

For now Williams and Bolasie but in 2 years time when both are slowing down and Stones is the best defender in Europe do another poll.

If Stones stays at city for say 10 years. £50m fee is a bargain. £5m a season, Wilshere is costing Bournemouth £4m for this year alone.

What makes you think Redmond can improve and Bolasie can't mate? I see Bolasie's main weakness is his inconsistency and the fact his numbers often don't back up his talent.

When I look at them both I see Bolasie as the lad with a better build and higher ceiling.

I very much doubt he will improve. I like him and inflation pretty much doubled everyone's fee.

Give him a chance.
