Really? Guardiola isn't the type of person to waste that amount of wedge willy nilly. And Mourinho last year? I think I'd take the word of two of the best managers in the world. Not exactly like City were the only club interested.

Hahaha. We'll see how it goes anyway. Obviously would have liked him to have stayed but I think he'll shine. Not like I'm arsed too much though, he's not an Everton player so I'm indifferent now.

Basically the Martinez period was a dream that turned into nightmare and its time to wake. Personally I think it could have been fixed by FDB but the majority of the fans were too hostile to that.

He was my original first choice too. I remember there was a poll on here listing about 10 different managers (some ridiculous ones like Mourinho, Moyes, Benitez included) and I couldn't understand why FDB wasn't even on the list. He was available having resigned from Ajax and I liked the fact he had a track record of bringing youth players through. Him and Overmars as DOF was my dream team. He's at Inter now, not exactly a small club eh?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti Koeman, quite the opposite. I'm made up with what he's done so far both on and off the pitch. His pragmatic and uncompromising nature was much needed and the honesty of his interviews is most refreshing. I think he was an excellent choice. But FDB was my first choice and I think Koeman may have already ruled himself out at that stage.

Stek was a nominal fee and Gueye was £7.1mil...and the less said about Valencia the better. We could have signed them with no sales.

Going off the higher numbers quoted for Bolasie (£28mil) and Williams (£12mil) it matches the £40mil we ended up with for Stones after paying Barnsley and i think their agent fees and signing bonuses would cover any difference.

So the question is...what would you prefer, Stones OR Bolasie + Williams?

Williams alone makes us more solid defensively atm. Although Stones is a superb talent and has the potential to become truely world class, Williams is the better option for us at the moment. As we've all seen, we're not in the position to attract the top players due to our league status. Need to improve on that in the coming years. Think we're better equiped to doing that with a natural born leader, organiser and extremely proven and experienced PL player like Williams than with a talent like Stones, who really hasn't been that solid defensively for us.

What does net spend have to do with Stones, he wanted out. We sold. That the way the game should be played anyway, you sell and buy replacements, spending like man u is not football tbf.

Not my opinion, just a reason why Stones was dragged up again.
