I think you'll find that they have played many more considering one is 32 and the other 27 years of age.

Couldn't care less how many they've played for other teams really.

John Stones played a lot for Everton. Some amazing. A small amount bad.

Yannick Bolassie and Ashley Williams have barely kicked a ball for Everton. Doesn't seem fair to compare.

Stones dosen't have funnily enough the stones to ever become properly exceptional

Look at his latest article, got the move he wanted and still cryarsing over his 'personal issues'
Nobody has 'kin personal issues at 22

For us, and for what we need, Williams and Bolasie. Stones was a luxury player we couldn't really enjoy in our team because we aren't a team like Man City. He won't need to do loads of defending there (not that I don't think he is a good defender, by the way), and they will get the most it of his pace and skills on the ball.

Williams will suit the way we need to defend more, and I think Bolasie is really exciting. He will be worth the money.

John Stones has been my favourite player in recent seasons. I've probably had a bit of a man crush on him if I'm honest, having been seduced by his sexy playing style, majestically striding out of defence leaving opposing forwards in his wake. There is nothing I would have liked more than seeing Stones, together with our group of other young starlets, growing as a team and playing football the Brazilian way.

Sadly that never happened and we found ourselves in a position where Stones didn't want to be here any more. Partly for football reasons but also because large elements of our fans turned against him. Reluctantly, I came to accept that John isn' t the type of defender that we need right now and we probably aren't the right team for him either. I'm not saying he's too good for us, just not right for us now.

We needed a solid, old fashioned if you like, reliable leader and organiser and that's exactly what we got in Williams. We also got excellent money for Stones, and I do believe that we're boxed off for the future with Galloway and Holgate, two more future England internationals.

I therefore feel that, as of now, the team/squad is stronger with Williams and Bolasie, and I would also include Gueye in that too, given that the majority of posters on here believe that we have a negative net spend this window.

It's all a bit mute anyway given that he obviously wanted out, and that would be reflected in his treatment from our fans. They'd be looking for the slightest opening to jump all over him. It's a shame as I've no doubt he will become an absolute world class footballer.

Well as others have pointed out its difficult to pick because Stones isn't an Everton player anymore and Bolasie and Williams have been here only a short time. Whilst Bolasie and Williams very much 'do a job' they are not John Stones. There's a reason Guardiola made Stones one of the most expensive defenders in history. Yes the fee is partly the premium of young talent but I'm not letting a few wobbles last season undermine that he is a talent and will have a fine career for club and country.

Williams and Bolasie,I'd have loved to keep Stones but his heart and his head were not at the club, short term Williams was needed whether Stones stayed or not,we needed a vocal aggresive player,I'm fairly certain ee would have dropped a couple of points without him there,Bolasie isnt a player I would have particularly gone out and bought but I will reserve judgement on him

I wouldn't use Guardiola throwing cash about like confetti as a yardstick for a players talent .

For me, it seems like a crazy signing.

Its £28million and even if lower then when you factor in agent fees and a signing bonus its really an incredibly strange purchase.

He wont get any better than he was at Palace and to be honest Nathan Redmond went to Southampton for £10mil who looks a superior player who can improve.

If we had signed him on deadline day i think most would be upset and yet when he was signed i think most let it go thinking if we were buying him for such a ridiculous price there must be lots of money in the kitty for top stars

If he doesnt improve then were stuck with him on big money into his 30s.
I see where you're coming from Zat with Redmond. He's a player I've admired for a couple of seasons (actually have him in my fantasy team) and I would have been happy had Everton gone after him.

The only thing I would say is that he's perhaps a bit similar in style to what we had already, and maybe Bolasie is that little bit different, adding an extra dimension to our squad.

I just don't understand why so many on here aren't prepared to even give him a chance.

Really? Guardiola isn't the type of person to waste that amount of wedge willy nilly. And Mourinho last year? I think I'd take the word of two of the best managers in the world. Not exactly like City were the only club interested.

Based on stats Gueye looked like being a good player. At the same time Bolasie looks like being a disaster and I agree that Deulofeu and Mirallas either side with Lennon in the squad also should put Bolasie as 4th choice or 3rd choice for either wing

Bolasie a disaster? LOL. He's played two games and would have had two assists if Ross and Rom didn't miss sitters.

Basically the Martinez period was a dream that turned into nightmare and its time to wake. Personally I think it could have been fixed by FDB but the majority of the fans were too hostile to that.
