Everyone's missing the big picture here, both Saha and the Yak weren't sold because they aren't very good! They are both 20 goal a season players they were sold because:

a) they were both on about 55-66k a week and we couldnt afford it!

B) they both crossed Moyes, like Joey Yobo before them, the minute that happened they were goners!

To be honest, Davey isn't great when it comes to strikers, it's not in him to indulge them or even change his system to meet their individual strengths! We will never have a Hernandez, Defoe, linekar, bent at everton! Davey wants his forwards all singing all dancing- scoring, defending, leading the line, running the channels while getting the lard kicked out of you if your not doing it to someone else! All the time doing it by yourself!

It's no surprise that Yak and Saha have been amazing since they left, both are quality players!

I'm a massive Davey fan by the way!

But all the games mentioned how many did he start in?? because the last 15 months of the Yak I remember he was either injured or on the bench whilst Saha played with Cahill, I agree with ya goat he's a lazy [Poor language removed] and tossed it off big time, I just felt at times like once he got back in the team after his derby performance , he scored the week later against Stoke, made the goal against Blackpool away then was dropped for Saha, I felt he was hard done too myself and we could do with him right now, our leading scorer is Baines is it not ????

Thats cos Saha was an utter lazy bell as well.

Time will tell if Jelavic will do the business and if not, im more than happy to watch Straq run his bollox off for 90mins.

The stats aren't great mate, struggling to think of a forward, who has made a career for themselves here under Davey, The same way players in other positions have and we have been through a lot of them! many of them with great pedigrees, who did it before and after here! Just being here was the blip!

Don't get me wrong I heart Davey - but you have to call it! He's a bad ted for his pride as well, has lost us a fair whack in sponds!

Name 1 forward whos career improved after they left Everton, its a myth that Moyes ruins Strikers, give him a good Striker first.

And I wont accept Yakubu or Saha as answers.

Its almost as if you havent read this thread.

But we have to work of the possibity that your wrong mate!

Wheather u choose to ignore it or not we sold two strikers in the past two transfer windows, who look like they will score shed loads! They have before coming here and will do now they have left! What compliment of striker has the manager chosen, big lumps of hard working forwards to fit an inflexible system! We have sold every single forward on our books in the last 6 years, that offers something different, pace, penetration, finishing! I love davey, but I gaurentee you in two years time we will still be playing, 4-5-1 with a big lump of a forward up front!

Hes just not for moving on it! He's toyed with changing, he's tried to turn forwards into players there not, to fit his system and in the end he's binned them because of it- far to soon for me in recent cases.

This all goes back to discovering that Cahill could compensate for not having a 2nd striker because of his then dynamic runs from midfield. Moyes' system became fashionable and was copied by other managers. The problem as I see it is that having discovered this system which in fairness worked, he then decided to stick with it come hell or high water. It never really worked when Cahill was missing/out of form/played as a striker.

But it's out of date now. We really need to either go back to 2 upfront, or at least play a proper striker/very talented midfielder in the hole.

Hes actually tried lots of different types of Strikers, none of the Strikers hes signed are similar.

Out of them all, I liked Straq and AJ the most, cos they put in a shift, I guess you like to see players in blue being complete [Poor language removed] on the pitch and not putting in effort, I personally cant stand it.

Ive said all I will say on Yakubu, im not gonna agree that he was this great player who we ruined, im happy with my viewpoint that he sulked his way out the Club.

All hail Jelly and Straq.

Tosh is all this ****e on here I keep reading about good old Yakubu.

The one who couldn't wait to get away from the club he joined us from and who promptly did the same to us when it suited him.

TOSH.

He'll do the same to Blackburn soon enough.

You're happy to have Pienaar back though aren't you, even though he fits the above description.

As for his 2 day holiday, not like he was caught drink driving was it.
