You're happy to have Pienaar back though aren't you, even though he fits the above description.

As for his 2 day holiday, not like he was caught drink driving was it.

Completely different to be fair. Pienaar had totally earned the right to be paid as much as Arteta, at the time he was arguably our best player.

It was more in regards to his off the field behaviour which is now getting used as a reason for why Yak was poo for us. In his best season for us, the Yak deserved to be the highest paid too.

And that's where I'm looking at him from, I know he was rubbish in his last 50 games. Every dog has his day, the Yak just likes to have them at as many clubs as possible.

Arrr but lads the Yak didn't get the same service as before...even though we had the same attacking formation, playing style and players.

...He must have missed all those Lescott flick-ons.

To be fair back then we had Pienaar, Cahill and Arteta all at the top of their game. We also played it on the ground rather than the Stoke tribute group thing we've had going on in the past few seasons.

Recent exploits for Blackburn aside; i'm gonna throw the Devils Advocate card in and say...

Well surely the Yak was at the top of his game too?

Every dog has his day and all that...

Except he's obviously not had his day as he's having the best season of his career.

And yet he still doesn't look as fit or mobile as he did in 07/08. I'd personally say it's down to how he's being used. As Brennan said (I think) Steve Kean's on record saying that he told Yak to do what Yak does: score. Stay up front, be a 'fox in the box' as they say, and well... not be Marcus Bent.

Moyes wants every striker to be Marcus Bent ffs. Neilsy's above posts speak zee truth.

Goals > Effort.

This. 11 Straqs won't win you sh*t. You need some lazy slotters, like it or not. Yak was a moody lazy sod, but it's Moyes job to motivate him. He failed, so Yak failed. Now Steve Kean is succeding. We will see next season if he can still handle him then. Either way, I'd have Yak. I can see him scoring 20 again, with the right management. Straq? Not so much :( Still love him tho.

...And people want another 10 years of "we need a goalscorer ffs" under David Moyes? He's too stubborn to change his set up bar the odd game.

I'm going to wait and see what happens with Jelavic. Third time lucky. Or fourth. Or eleventh. I've lost track of how many failed strikers we've had.

Denis so far this season: 17 Games 3 Goals.

Yakubu in his last season with us: 15 Games 1 Goal.

And most of Denis's games have been from the bench. Goal machine that Yakuza lid.

Miroslav Klose

2009/10 with Bayern Munich | League apps: 25 | League goals: 3
2010/11 with Bayern Munich | League apps: 20 | League goals: 1
2011/12 with Lazio | League apps: 19 | League Goals: 12
2001 - with Germany | Apps: 113 | Goals: 63

He's not a goal machine though because he had a few bad seasons. That makes him badly gash. GEt HeSkeY iN1!

But once he had two gash seasons with Bayern he moved on and scored loads of goals. As Yakubu has done.

I think Yakubu shouldn't have been sold and should have been given more game time, especially after a boss derby performance, but some people seem to think that just before he left he was scoring 10 goals a game for us.
