....here’s Sunday morning’s breakfast Toffee transfer rumours;

- The Star exclusively reveal Everton interest in RB Leipzig’s Swedish international midfielder, Emil Forsberg. The Toffees would have to pay £25m for the 26 year old winger who has recently signed a new contract. The same article suggests Leipzig are preparing an increased £15m bid for Everton’s Ademola Lookman after having had a £12m offer turned down.

- A number of outlets pick up on the report from Spanish publication, Sport, that Everton have made an enquiry for Barcelona’s 24 year old forward, Paco Alcacer. Alcacer joined from Valencia in 2016 for £25.5m and has struggled to establish himself at Camp Nou, scoring 15 goals in 50 appearances.

- Calciomercato continue to link Everton, West Ham and Inter Milan with 17 year old Spezia attacker, Samuele Mulattieri. The youngster is available for a nominal fee.

- The Liverpool Echo quote Scottish football expert, Ian McGarry, informing Everton have agreed ‘a deal in principle’ to sign Celtic Left Back, Kieran Tierney. McGarry also said, “Celtic are very calm and unperturbed about the fact his agents are actively marketing him in the Premier League”.

- According to Inside Football, Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign Everton target, Kamal Bafounta. The 16 year olds performances for Nantes have drawn comparison with Paul Pogba.

- Sky Sports are reporting a £17.5m bid from West Ham for Borussia Dortmund winger, Andriy Yarmolenko. The 28 year old joined the German club last year for £23m and has been regularly linked to Everton.

- Tuttumercartoweb say Manchester United are preparing a £40m bid for PSV winger, Hirving Lozano. Everton are said to have been keen on the Mexican international.

Has Esk actually said we are skint? Not listened to latest podcast, however, there isn't anything on his timeline to that effect.

Noticed a few sarky comments recently about this guy. This is forum is boss, but think it really shoots itself in the foot sometimes hounding out quality posters.

So he got a few transfers wrong, based on info he'd received,(possibly) and what? Hardly crime of the centuary. His business stuff is very good and the forum has lost that content.

Anyway.

Aside from the snot nosed manxman there appear to be no credible links to anyone at present.
Perhaps Silva believes he can fashion a team from amongst the horde of players he has inherited. We did finish 8th after a poor season it's not like he's being asked to create an effective team from the leavings of Rotherham Utd.
A measure of a great manager is the ability to forge a successful team from largely unheralded players.
This leaves Brands free to stock up on young wunderkinds and plot our future world dominance.

Yarmalenk-off.

I won’t link it but the Scottish version of the scum paper (spoils for language) are reporting we’ve dropped our interest in Tierney due to them wanting £25m.

It’s in bbc sport gossip page.

Disappointing if true

No, Esk hasn't said anything remotely like we're skint.

As we all know, the current squad and therefore the wage bill is far too large, especially with no European football this season.

Therefore the fairly sensible assumption, and has been widely reported, is that the squad/wage bill both need to be quite seriously reduced in order, and possibly before, expensive new signings are confirmed.

Esk has said that he believes that Everton need to offload more players before they can recruit.

I think this is more to do with keeping wages in check rather than not having the funds for transfer fees.

Walsh and Koeman really messed up. Although we must all admit that splashing all that cash was exciting at the time.
