We have a new manager and a new DOF. If they were to come straight into the club and jib players off without actually looking at them (yes even Mirallas and Williams) then I would sack them immediately as they would not be doing their job. With a possible exception or two nobody in the squad is inherently a bad player and they all have attributes that a manager may like or not. Silva may come in and think "That Besic is two footed, can tackle, can pass, has energy, I can do something with him." Conversely he may have a look at, I dunno, Baines lets say and think "That Baines is finished, his legs have gone and he cant defend, I can do better".

Until a manager spends a bit of time with a squad all kinds of things could happen so anyone assuming who is going or staying etc is just guessing based off past events under a totally different regime.

Yeah I get all that and I agree with it to a point, but let’s take Mirallas for example - overstayed his welcome here by about 4 years, continually disrespected the club, he’s not good at football and generally been a ball bag. How many chances does he deserve?? He’s utter garbage and a bad apple, should have been told to do one instantly. My point is - I would have thought since silva is a professional football manager and been our manager since before Christmas the homework would have done by now, it can’t be that hard in 5-6 months to identify the people they want and don’t want. I don’t buy the line that silva needs to see them to make a decision, there is clearly players here that don’t belong and should have been told instantly to stay at finch farm work on their fitness and find a new club. What if these ball bags that know they are getting punted start causing unrest whilst away.

Remind everyone of what? I cannot remember the huge change promised either. Maybe the hot weather has lulled me into a stupor. I imagine the new powers that be are busy doing what they are supposed to do both to preserve their jobs and help Everton forward. I imagine by August 5th or whatever we might have seen a few outs and few ins. I expected nothing by July 10th to be honest.
You must not remember the 'Nothing will be the same' campaign. Selling to buy, selling star players, stalling stadium moves. All feels very much the same.

Wasn't Brands supposed to have spoken to Barca (again) yesterday? Wonder if any of that was real and if anything comes of it. Radio silence from all sides.

“I think it is important for me to be in the area immediately because there is a lot of work to do, so then it is good to live in the area. My wife was shown around and she was very impressed with what the area has to offer and, for me, it’s really important to live there as soon as possible, in order to be close to work.”

"What the people around the Club will see is new signings but behind-the-scenes there will be a lot of work and, of course, the first thing is a new manager."

"Everton will need to "offload" a number of players this summer in order to raise transfer funds, according to the club's new director of football Marcel Brands."

When asked if club owner Farhad Moshiri would provide a similar transfer fund to last summer, Brands said: "No. First of all we need to offload players to raise money [to spend], and also salary-wise. But it's not only a money thing.
"Of course money is important but also, for a coach, it is not workable to start with 38 players in your squad.
