This is not a "gotcha" moment but a genuine question. How old were Jags and Lescott when they were paired together? I know not 21 but weren't they about 24?

They were both 25, Lescott signed at 24 but it was a year until Jags signed, both being 25 in August 07.
Give maybe a season of Jags in and out the team and Lescott at left back, we are probably saying 26

But it wasn’t 4 months previously, they could have signed him whenever they wanted at any time during the next 3 years, if Pochettino rated him that highly. And they already had Eriksen and Lamela when they sold him.

Come on mate, he’s not as good as Eriksen and Lamela obviously, but it doesn’t mean he isn’t a good player.

The 45 mil thing will always hang over his head but that’s Steve and the gang’s fault.

Make our opinions known. Why should we accept this second rate club we have become?

The man who has held us back for years, Kenwright, is still sitting there influencing decisions and he’s safe as anything.

Our fanbase, bar a few, is pathetic. Claim to be a big club yet we’re sitting in a stadium like Goodison, 25 years into the Premier League, we’re still counting the pennies and we’re still no closer to winning a trophy.
It is what it is mate. Nothing we can do about it. It's amazing how much the previous manager (koeman, not Allardyce) and DoF totally messed things up in the space of 2 short years. We now have a huge aging playing staff on long contracts and silly wages. The salary bill is simply not sustainable, either from FFP sense or just simple economics, so we have to offload a shed load before we bring others in .

Fortunately we do have some very good youngsters to bolster the squad positions, so we only really need 3/4 players for the first XI to give ourselves a chance at doing OK next season. Whilst it would be nice to have seen a few faces already, I still believe that some, if not all of those positions will be filled before the window closes. We also have a new manager who hopefully will bring a new brand of attacking football to Goodison.

You either get behind them or you don't. I'm not going to criticise you if you choose the latter. that's your call mate. I never went to a single match when Allardyce was manager so I understand where you're coming from. But neither do I think it's fair to call all the other fans that don't agree with you pathetic, just because they have higher toleration levels than you.

Bottom line is that the club's in a bit of a mess as regards the playing staff and it's going to take a while to sort out. It would be easier for yourself if you just accepted that and hope/pray that the club have now got it right with the new management team.
