Reminds me of the days we took a punt on Arteta at a minimal cost. He looks the type of box to box midfielder Silva likes so who knows. It could just be a hint of the kind we are after or a cheap punt. Milan bought him for 20m at one stage so he obviously had potential then.

Respectfully, he went to Fulham as they were prepared to do the deal, showing faith in him whilst other clubs didn’t move. Sometimes the players will be hungry for a move and jeopardise a move to a bigger club - boils down to patience,

On first blush I was not sympathetic but when I thought about it and watched it again I think that he knows he wasn’t cutting it. Top goalscorer last year, Everton fan, amazing hat trick, goal at Anfield but legs knackered.

I have a soft spot for Genoa from going to see them play when on a stag do a few years back. This lad was boss for them, obviously earning the move to Milan and he also got in the national team.
