With the world cup on the brink of its conclusion, hopefully, we'll see some incomings soon. I wouldn't mind signing Japan's central midfielder Gaku Shibasaki. He's a real ballplayer, tidy in possession, and would stroll into our starting eleven.

Yes he has quite a few negatives but our squad is flipping grim. He’s better than all we have in similar positions except possibly Walcott.

I'm always a bit wary of talented players who change clubs more times than I change my underwear. I think he's got an attitude problem.

And...£13mill compared to £45mill Siggurdson...makes me sick.

It will be the wages too mate. Shaqiri will be on close to or above 100k p/w I reckon,

His stats are good but he is ill fitting for their system. I'm not a huge Sigurdsson but he offers a lot more off the ball and defensively than Shaqiri. He will be able to fit easily into Marco's system whereas I don't think Shaqiri would.

Shaqiri's attitude last season, when Stoke needed someone to step up and fight for them was awful. Talent yes but not a team player. Like another Mirallas only much worse.

Shaqiri is unbelievably lazy. Made up he’s going to them. He’ll either be the rotten apple in the cart because his ego won’t take being on the bench, or he’ll be bone idle because he is on the bench and will be completely unmotivated. I can’t imagine him willfully playing this super sub role they all think he’ll do. Would not want him anywhere near Everton, he’d be off with the boys club of Williams Wazza Mirallas Schneiderlin before you knew it.

He and Wilshere are Allardyce signings (which is not meant as an insult, his signings were better than Koeman's) but hard to see him fitting in with Klopp

As bad as things have been, we'd have to play Shaqiri whereas the RS will probably get away with benching him, joining them will feed his ego.

Someone of his dubious commitment and tendency to perform only on the rare occasions the mood takes him, would have been the very last thing we need.

Thing is we take so long from the period of the news getting leaked to then submitting a bid, to then discussing terms, to then passing a medical, to eventually signing that i cant picture any of our targets arriving for another 2 weeks atleast
