Summer 2018 Transfer Window

Barkely couldn't be arsed to move the ball, and had quite the sour attitude on the way out.

After all that drama of getting him to Chelsea, Conte STILL had him riding the bench, and finally saw what we all did. He does a lot of fancy footwork in the mid, but never takes big risks, and ends up giving the ball to someone else, in a panic.

I used to love the guy, but I don't think he has any potential to progress anymore. We already have useless mids with the above description.

This squad was good enough to finish 8th in the league last season under relegation fight Sam and yet people comment like we could well go down with the same squad?

We do need a complete rebuild but over time now rather than all at once. So if that means some unpopular players are in and around the team this season then so be it. So if we sign only 4 this window , one in Jan and 4 next summer then that's how it's going to be.

Signing loads of players was part of the issue last year. Unlike spurs though we didn't sign anyone to build a team around in the process and that was walsh s fatal flaw.

I still want to see young players brought in over established experienced ones and I don't want us shopping in the premier league either. Start from the beginning and improve the squad not the team. Otherwise it's a complete waste of time.
Sensible.
Consolidate our position, give or take a few places.
Acquire the right players over a time frame for a reasonable price and build a squad.

We saw what happened when we go gung ho.

I can accept lower mid table if it means transition.

The problem I have is that both my eyes and the stats completely contradict that.

I saw a player who could break defensive lines with dribbling and passing. The stats showed that. By FAR our most creative player.

I saw a player who touched the ball a lot. The stats also show that. He literally touched the ball twice as much as the player who replaced him.

Was he perfect? No. Is he world class? No.

But just like Stones his imperfections are massively outweighed by what they bring to the team.

I can't see how anyone could think our team is better without than it was with.
This is so unbelievable false. Everyone ELSES eyes saw a player who could only break turnover records when he tried to pass the ball. Everyone else saw a player that would kill just about every fast break with terrible passes and terrible decisions.

The issue with Ross is that hamstring mate. We seemed quite keen to get rid of him in the end, it was opaque as to whether the Contract was offered. I really fear for Barkley with that injury.

And yet his 8 assists (2 years in a row) were more than our entire midfield roster of Sigurdsson, Rooney, Davies, Geuye, Schneiderlin, Vlasic, Klaassen, McCarthy, Bolasie, Sandro and Lookman managed combined last year in a team.

In terms of deadwood, I do apologise if previously raised.

Two quick calls:
Piennar to Everton.
Arteta to Everton.

Players who weren't looked favourably amongst their respective clubs. Yet flourished here.

Just cause we as a majority don't hold much hope in certain players, doesn't mean other clubs won't either.

in that case everyone else should get their eyes tested. Barkley wasn’t perfect, but he was very, very good. To suggest otherwise is either sour grapes or just plain idiocy in my opinion.
