I don't think we are.

Silva's style has never been exclusively possession-based - at least not in the sense that Martinez etc want.

Yes, he likes to have control in games, but his teams have mainly created chances by either pressing high and regaining possession upfield, or moving the ball sharply through the midfield into the final third.

I agree Meyer is a decent player, but I'm not sure he's the type of player we need for that role as a priority.

He’s not won me over yet, I’ll be giving him time and patience - He’s spoken well about his vision, just hope he can realise it here.

The one thing I’m quite relaxed about is Silva being a tactician - I hope he can get a tune out of these idiots at the start of the season.

I'm pretty sure the hold up is that Digne hasn't yet signed for us.

I'm just not fan of the DOF role at all and think it causes massive confusion all round.

I’m happy to see how we can grow with it in place, we were terrible last season and I can fully understand how and why people view it negatively. Just hope we can sign promising players and develop them in the way successfully implemented DoFs get it to work abroad.

I wouldn’t be happy if it meant we just buy average players from rivals and pay extortionate wages though - Which if were being honest is no different to last year. Only difference being we bought other teams best players last year - to some degree.

Well which is it?...if it's the latter, Monaco can keep him. I recall an episode of MASH where Hawkeye had to operate on a GI with a similarly misbehaving toenail...they can be quite debilitating it seems.

It is pretty hard to run around and kick a ball to be fair. Not sure how any new signings will cope. Might forget how to play.
