How different can contracts be?

Apart from price, breakdown of payment schedules, wages, bonuses and duration of contracts and of course the name on the player. Can they mostly be all just cut and paste jobs (done carefully) for the vast majority of players? Or does it get far too complicated when dealing with image rights, overseas clubs, etc. for it to be an off the shelf pro forma drafted up reasonably easily?

Do they need to be signed for a registration to be made for that player joins a new club, if all parties are certain that it's going to be signed and have agreed terms and no problems with medicals and so on?
