There's no blame being attached. Is there any evidence of my saying he's to blame for anything?

I'm saying that we need to be cautious over claims he's had a great start to his job here purely on the basis that 15 players have left us.
You haven't used the actual word "blame" Dave, I agree. But you are saying he should be judged on the financial aspects of his dealings, and that is unfair. His position was unworkable for reasons beyond his control. His overriding remit was probably threefold, get the wage bill down, improve squad quality in key areas, and get the squad size down to a manageable number. I think he's done a decent job in all 3 areas, especially the last.

Isn’t Browning over 23?
Yeah he is. But they are allowed so many over age in the team. Liverpool played Sakho there for half a season a few years ago.
Pretty certain we've been trying to offload him. At the moment he probably isn't holding up player development but when Feeney and Gibson are both fit again I can see him being benched. Feeney came back in and took the armband yesterday. Expect to see us try and sell/loan him again in January, but he's out of contract at the end f the season and I can see him just being released.

I am a little surprised by this development tbh because he's certainly championship quality. He has had a career littered with injuries though so this is probably why teams aren't taking a punt on him.

Unknowable on wages, and yet to be determined in terms of squad improvement. You have every right to hope he's achieved both, but you dont know it.

Some are looking at the volume shifted out and automatically equating it with 'impressive'.

The overall point to be made is that we need to wait and see what Brands is capable of achieving at the club because it'll only become apparent as the seasons go by.

Do you acknowledge that there is now a clear plan and weak areas are now being targeted?
You must be encouraged by the first few months since Brands' appointment? Surely?

I know it's down to personal choice, but I'm sure most Everton fans would have had a wish list of who they wanted to go and who to stay. Mine pretty much mirrors what happened, so obviously I'm impressed.

As regards "unknowable on wages". Well you just assume the worst as it suits your agenda. The reality is probably a lot different and will come out in next years accounts. We won't have to wait quite as long to judge him on squad improvement.

Well I thought one of the weak areas was upfront and that we needed a much better option than DCL or Tosun, and that wasn't targeted. The CB spots were the ones to sort out and although we got two in it's a bit difficult to tell whether they have the quality to move us forward.

Again, it comes back to wait and see.

I have no idea what motivates some to heap praise on someone who has yet to earn it. It all sounds desperate to me.

Laughing at @davek and mini Dave @Neiler here.

2 of the most clueless posters on the forum trying to sell their own BRANDS of kool aid to the educated masses.

Utterly comical.

It's not selling anything. The reverse, in fact. The sale's pitch is all yours and involves spinning the 'achievements' of someone who's acheived nothing yet.

So @davek please answer my earlier question. Do you really genuinely believe that we have loaned out all those players and not received a single fee and are still paying their wages?
The club are going to be paying a proportion of the wages of the likes of Bolassie. What the overall profit-loss is will be hard to get info on. One thing we can defo say though is that these players out on loan will all be a year further into their contracts and therefore have devalued for us as saleable assets if we have to bring them back in.

Behave. I didn't heap praise. I just said that I was encouraged. Anyway, Leicester have just scored. Can we both agree that is a positive? Probably not.

Thanks, but I'm looking for the detailed financial transactions here regarding loan payments to the club and how much of the wages of some players the club has had to pay to get them out the door.

If we can get that evidence in place we can seriously test whether Brands has had this miracle summer transfer window many are attributing to him.

If you got a share of the club you may get a look at the annual financial report? Or is it open to the public I have no idea.
